Are the gods ignoring me?

Ok so I don't know what to do. I have tried to contact any of the gods for months and gotten nothing. Not even the slightest sensation or voice. People have told me to meditate and try to reach whatever gods come to me then but I have had nothing. I can't erect shrines or leave offerings due to my parents. But I want some conformation that the gods even hear me. What should I do?

Your trying too hard. The gods won't listen to someone who's desperate. Detachment applies to everything even contacting the gods. Still try but if you feel frustrated or stressed in any way your magic will most likely not work and the gods won't answer you.

I agree with outcast. It may take longer than others to establish a connection with the gods. Pray to them is my advice

Your saying the same things that many people of different faiths say. They want confirmation a divine or higher entity is hearing their pleas even if they go unanswered but not everyone gets acknowledgment. Even when they do from what I've seen since being a member of SoM the sign they are given can be very subtle, which the average joe might overlook. An example is someone recently posted that they saw a flock of bats over the sea and were certain it was a sign from their deity, but they noted that sign/omen because they've been studying magick & omens for a long time as such a sign would go unnoticed by someone like me. My advice is to simply keep practicing meditation, the basics, and just keep your eyes open. I know it's hard as patience is a virtue but try not to be impatient as everything happens in it's own time.

Approaching the gods with humility and openness is important. You cannot expect for them to display parlor tricks to someone merely interested in proof they exist or desiring something from them without being willing to give back. There is a reason Christians end up losing faith in their god. They are taught he holds their hand through life and all they have to do is pray and be good. They are taught the holy men have the power not them. The holy people that dedicate themselves entirely to their faith are able to lay hands and heal, hold ritual, pray with best results and create miracles.

Being a shaman, witch, or ceremonial magician is about becoming that holy person yourself. It is about developing a real relationship with your deity/deities and in doing so, creating a connection unlike those that merely believe.

Thank you guys for the advice. I think that in the past I have let my frustration and my impatience get the best of me. But I will try to do better.
