Getting lost in your own delusions and attempting to do advanced work with spirits before being absolutely capable to handle the possible outcomes.

Your worst danger is you hurting yourself because you're under experienced, lack research, or lack critical thinking. The second is getting involved with a system or spirits with the above and offending them.

If you think you're ready, keep researching. If you think you know it all, keep learning.

The only danger in the dark side of magick is being consumed by ones own ego, guilt or fear. You need to have balance and humility, confidence but not egotism.

All magick attracts what I like to call parasites or vermin of the spiritual world. They're energy feeders, like those big ugly bottom feeder fish in aquariums. Big deeds (whether dark or selfless) tend to attract them the most (like a big juicy steak). So it's important to learn and practice protection and defense magick and master that first. It's also important to learn to sense when something is amiss, so that you can remove the ones that get through protections.

If you notice that you are being attacked all the time, it's time to step back and ask yourself what you are doing wrong. People that feel that they are always under attack are creating these attacks like the crazy next door neighbor that constantly thinks the government or aliens are watching them. I'm not saying that if you are always under attack by spirits that you are crazy, but that you need to get ahold of your own mind because you are manifesting your own problems.

When I was a child, that was driven into my head "what you think can happen, so keep your thoughts positive". Even concentrating on worries about someone was frowned upon in my family and I was scolded because it could "cause it to happen".

So if you fear demons, you can manifest thoughtforms that appear as demons. No matter how much you banish, they'll come back because you create them unconsciously. The problem is the person's mind and the imbalance, not the demons nor the magick. This is what I find to be the most common mistake in magick.

i am not an expert but i know for sure that our thoughts create our reality and that what we think about and believe will manifest i think this is the most important thing for begginers to learn because no matter how many spells we cast and products we buy the most imortant ingredient to success is belief and positivity. its nice to see someone knowlegable shedding some light on this issue

Such an open-ended question. You can curse yourself and not even know it, you can learn more than you'd ever want to, becoming too effective in the negative aspects you can have the authorities come looking for you (I'm your guy), you can learn to tap into psychic abilities, but what good are they if you don't utilize them daily?

My best advise when it comes to magick. . .

Always, always, always wright in a secret magickal language, so that whosoever finds your craft doesn't hunt you down. I'm partly serious if not at all totally serious, because from experience I know.

Never ever never share with anyone but the good aspects of the craft with only your closest of friends. That may not be the case with some others of the craft, but I know from experience to keep everything at an all time low.

Here is my last proposition, there is an almighty god that reineths even into the very fabric of SoM. That notion doesn't really impress me, but when I feel things are not right, I always get this feeling something or someone is toying with me. -_-

To tie an end to your question, and if you were to get into higher types and forms of magick, the dangers of magick wouldn't even be a question. You would already know the dangers, but you wouldn't know all the answers.

That depends on your chosen path(s).

Besides, the lack of reserach, and believing the opinions of "mediums".

WhiteRav3n said it best really, but I would like to address more the medium. While not all are scams, be cautious since it can be faked without you noticing. [Open ended or leading questions] the person might also frown upon magick. I know a couple psychosis, mediums or tarot readers who hate witchcraft and tie their skills to other sources. [God] take what this person said with a grain of salt. They warned you of the darker things the craft brings, so be aware, and don't go too far one way or the other as it could bring negative effects. I've always felt life is a balancing act and one must work with both. Yes, try and do more help than harm, but a middle is best. This is just what I feel though.
