so I recently posted about mods and I'm not sure if the site just didn't get the info or if the mods deleted the post and I was wondering they could do so without sending a message letting the person know that the forum post was taken down

and I wasn't sure as to where to put this in the forums so I just chose to put it in the comments.

Yes, moderators have the ability to delete threads without giving notification to the person who created it.
