Hex

Hi,

I am a college student and game developer. For a recent project I've been thinking about this particular game which includes the creation of magic spells and the like. What I need is a bit of clarification on the definitions (and connotations) of certain words, and any suggestions you may have. I wanted to go with the name "Spellcraft," but (as expected) that's already taken. I've looked into alternatives, such as Hexcraft. I wasn't too sure, but is a "hex" usually evil in nature? If so, that simply won't work for my game. Any advice and suggestions are welcome. Thanks. :)

Well for a game name I'd go with "Witch's of the craft" Its new it sounds like something any fan of anything magic like Harry Potter books (Which is a large series and huge fan base) would buy and it could be good or evil which is great for both because it could be a game where you pick one side that you work with

For your game you could use elemental magick, crystals, etc...there's just sooo much you could most likely use! :D Hex is often seen as a bad thing.

Here's some name titles you might like to consider (dunno if they're used thou as they're random names from the top of my head :P)

Spellbound

mystic warriors

Well....that's the only one's I can think of lol

Good luck with everything anyway :D

How about "Between the worlds" or "Beyond the Veil". Most magick practioners believe that their work is achieved when accessing a point of existence between the spiritual and physical world, and that the veil is the line or barrier that separates the two. Most games with sorcerors and such show lightening and fire, which is spiritual manifestations of spellwork, seen only on the astral level, so such a name would be very fitting and more factual.

Thanks for the replies so far. Been a lot of help. :)
Still welcoming more ideas, of course. Throwing hex out the window though. =P

Think I might go with "Spellforge" though.
