My name is Tucker.

My name is Tucker. I used to be a christian but, it just seemed that that wasn't where I belonged. Now that I am no longer a christian, I... I'm not really sure what I believe. Paganism seems like something I would be interested in. I love nature, animals, and plants. My favorite season is winter and my favorite time of day is nighttime. I am a vegetarian. Can someone help me? What exactly is paganism? What's neo-paganism?

trust me, you would be neo-pagan. paganism is very ancient and.. well... go here http://tinyurl.com/6fywlsx
neo-pagan is the new age pagan (neo being latin for new i think) and an example of neo-paganism is wicca. wicca is here:

you dont particularly have to follow a religion to have beliefs. i have my own beliefs about everything, so i wouldnt really call myself by a certain religious sect. anyways, find what works for you.

are you interested in magic? this is a magick site after all.

hope this helped.

OH GOD NO! whoever told you that follows a religion that practices magick... it helps and is much esier to grasp if you do, but it is not necessary. many spells, almost all, will be related to some sort of deity though, so keep an open mind about them/that.

a lot of spells require the envokation of a deity or some god. so it is helpful to still be open to those ideas when using a spell. such as:

if you want to do a love spell, you would probably envoke the 'love goddess aphrodite (venus)' or if you decided to take a christian route, you would pray to God. and so on.

it just helps to not shut out any faiths that involve magic or paganism because a lot of magick originates from these old belief systems.

there is truth in every lie, there fore every religion- no matter how false it may seem- will have some truth.

Hi Tucker. I too am new to paganism and wicca. I find it so interesting but I also have found Jesus. I finally realized people dont fit into molds or sterotypes completly. I have a moral compass and know right from wrong but do not judge. Like above, keep an open mind and you will find what you are searching for. I would really enjoy talking with you as I have a lot of knowledge but little experience with magic. I do water magic, herbalism, and some candle magic. Please email me. Sincerely, Queen of Sheba

I would point out that while many spells suggest the invocation of a god or goddess you can also adapt them to your own beliefs.

I do not worship. I rather refuse to do so. I offer respect and civility, certainly, but I will not worship a god or goddess. As such, I do not ask them for help. Adapting my spells and such to this methodology has never resulted in a problem.
