Just realised you said about :/ well there are tools anyway.....:/

About it, scrying is focusing on a particular object to get into a form of trance, to receive "Visions" of the future. Often you may see your answer in the object itself! keep a watch for anything.

To add to my list of tools above, A black bowl full with water, pour some candle wax into it, see the image that it forms, although, this is not a "Traditional" Scrying form, due to the fact the it does not require trance

Scrying is using a medium as focus to enter a trance and tap into your subconscious knowledge and intuition. You can use water, fire, black mirrors, crystal spheres or pyramids, or flat shiny surfaces of any kind, the more natural the better. I prefer black coffee or fire.

Tea leaf and coffee ground reading is also popular in gypsy magick. I've done it and I find it a lot of fun, but my daughter accidentally shattered my cup! She thought it would be cute to bring it to me.
So I'm in search of a new one, they have to be rounded at the bottom, like a small bowl for best results. At least for me.

As funny as it sounds, I've even scryed through my bathroom wall tile! Taking a bath and relaxing, the tile has random swirls throughout it, similar to marble, and the swirls take shape and form pictures that normally I do not see. When I try to see them outside of a trance state, I can't find them again.

You enter a trance and gaze (not stare) at your medium. You need to know how to enter a trance first. Its the next step after meditation and the step before astral projection. You know you're there when you're mind gets very quiet and all senses besides the ones your focusing on dull or disappear entirely. I personally just do it. I was taught meditation when I was seven and began practicing it seriously at twelve. I don't know how to break it down for you. But I'm sure google would be helpful. Just search "how to enter a trance" or something similar.

I was thinking about it a bit, and how to explain it.

My best advice is to practice meditation. Focus on something outside of yourself like music, nature sounds or an image. Rhythm is the easiest tool, so music with steady drumming, chanting, I've even focused on a water facet drip. As you meditate, you'll begin to lose awareness of your body and all that exists is what you are focusing on. Generally your focus becomes stronger and your sense for it becomes intensified. Your head may feel heavier and you'll feel totally relaxed. When you use a scrying medium, your focus would be the medium and when your senses sharpen on it, you must remain relaxed and open minded. The minute you tense up, you'll lose the right state of mind. Your vision may blur and you may even feel like closing your eyes. Let whatever happens happen. Ask a question and wait openly for the answer, as if waiting for someone else to answer. Be aware of any thoughts, images, emotions, or sounds occur. The medium is just a tool, the true answers are in your mind. The tools are unnecessary therefore once you learn to scry, you can do it with just about anything, however everyone has their favorite.

Be sure to write down everything you experienced afterward. I usually forget if I don't.

Sometimes I scry when I paint a picture. Its very fun and exciting! I fall into a trance and paint everything I see in my third eye. The pictures tend to be very deep and mysterious. Its a good exercise for those who are creative. ;)
