Energy waves in meditaton

My friend has been experiencing some unusual phenomena.

First time meditating, I tried using sleep paralysis. I heard vibrations, some talking that was just 'talking', and then I felt a huge burst of energy all over my body that sent me bursting into laughter. The second time, which was months later, I just tried concentrating on my breathing, and 5 minutes in I felt the same energy come from my solar plexus spread through my body like a wave. What is this energy, why am I getting it, and what should I do about it?
By the talking, I mean like if you walk into a subway station or a busy restaurant
you can't tell what they're saying
you just know it's talking

Hmmm I don't really know what this could be exactly. Does s/he leave the meditation after the energy hits, or?

It may be their personal transition into the trance state. When I meditate and have been doing the breathing I start to lose feeling of my body and I get that floating sensation and it all sorta goes blank until the 'experience' begins. I get that rush of energy when I come out of the meditation, but haven't felt it going in.

When the energy hits, it puts me back into my physical body, I am fully aware and the energy travels through me, and makes me feel emotions. Both time it was happiness/laughter. It overpowers me, I should say.
I don't know what's causing it, because I'm just touching the point of light meditation.

Nice to meet you Talix :)

Maybe try grounding before the meditation? Do you try to meditate again after you're knocked out of it by the energy? It might be your body forcing some excess stuff out, or freaking out because you're not used to that state.

This is quite perplexing, lol. :D

Today I felt an impulse to laugh as I entered light meditation, but it wasn't as powerful as yours, and soon went away. The only conclusion I can think of is the same as Kikuyo's. You may have excessive amounts of energy stuck inside you somehow. The best way to get rid of it would be to do the tree visualisation, but seeing as you have this stopping you from meditating, that is not an option. I'd say just do it a little more each day, and if my theory is correct, in a few days/weeks (depending how much energy you have stored inside), it may have all been cleared up.

i agree, grounding yourself first is a good idea. Is this burst of energy like a buzzing/ fizzing sensation? because that whats happened to me before I've been able to do a successful astral projection. Maybe next time you get into the state you described if you want you can try leaving your body?

This phenomenon is meant to guide you to who you truly are.It brings in emotions to show you who you are but also it shows how empty you are.

Keep going on it,it will awaken you from your own illusions.

I`ve been doing it quite a lot and it helped me. =)

Hope you are enjoying life =)

Good advice Solarn, best advice i can ad is to just keep letting go more and more of your concious mind and ego and melting away more and more into the sensations you are feeling, lose yourself into your own Self and you will start triggering a process called ego death, the more one lets go the more ones soul releases, more past life memories etc. untill the point of reaching a state of pure conciousness, this also opens you up to 6th circuit conciousness, to understand more on this read up on Timothy Leary's 8 circuit model of human conciousness as a guideline. if you want to understand the process of ego death more do some research and reading on the tibetan book of the dead as well as the psychedelic guide written by Timothy Leary, it however teaches how to trigger the process through the use of psychedelics, however this isn't needed yet the book gives good examples of some images one may encounter and how to let go of them or enterpret them. enjoy
