what's the best way to clean your cauldron after buring fire in it?

i have found that a little bit of ashes remain behind, stuck to the bottom of the cauldron so i want to clean it out, plus remove the smoke smell from it, as i store my cauldron in my bedroom.

Don't waste it! I scrape it out and make black salt with it, depending on how much you scrape out you may need to add a bit of charcoal, grind it up in your mortar and pestle (some prefer to do it in their actual cauldron) then add approx twice as much salt as your charcoal/scraping mix and keep mixing until it is all black.
Black salt is commonly used for protection, to banish or to drive away negativity. I always sprinkle some in my herb garden and around my fence line.

Well you can scrap off the ashes out of it and save if you want and use it for other things.

You should be careful on washing your cauldron, the material that is made of can rust and so on.

After scraping out the ashes, you can put water and get a rag and wash it or you can use a magical wash to wash it. Magical washes are used to wash your tools and workspace. Some magical wash are used for protection, getting rid of negative energy and so on.
Lemons and aconite can be used for magical washes, note: aconite is poisons, so make sure not to swallow and keep it away form open cuts and keep away form small children and pets.
