It has always been my opinion that magic is difficult, if not impossible, to learn by merely reading about it. Either in books, or on-line. It needs a personal, hands on, teacher. There are almost bound to be some near where you live. Have a look at WitchVox.com. There is a world wide list of covens and Pagan groups.
Take no notice of members of this site claiming to teach! They are usually children having fun; and they wouldn't know real magic if it jumped up and bit them!

I agree with the previous post. It is very difficult to learn from a book or online. Be selective in who you choosse for a teacher. Make sure that they are real and not playing. Remenber that they are supposed to have made the journey first so they canguide you. Very rarely will a real teacher give you the answers. They will make you find them yourself, guiding you as you go.

LVX,

Shawn.

Don't give up if you can't find a teacher,it may be harder to learn without one,but it's still possible.

I agree with the above posts as well. But you should also remember, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

you should know what you want to practise before looking for a teacher so i suggest studying on diffrent topics then practise the basics then take off from there.

Tiredofgaggs.I agree, that is what I try to do, point the youngsters in the right direction. Most take no notice, of course, But some do! And that makes it all worthwhile.
