Help with Tea
By:
I want to make a bamboo leaf & rose petal tea. These two plants have complementary healing properties and would work well together. The problem I'm having is which species of these plants to use. There are HUNDREDS of each and to be honest I don't have the time or money to test each one. So if anyone knows anything about these plants and their myriad of species that would be helpful. Either respond on here or shoot me a message. Thanks!

I'm not a botanist, but the more productive way would be just get a pack of each type of tea and brew them together. I know it's not exactly home grown, but it would save on time and money.

As far as I am aware, almost every type of rose can be consumed.

Bamboo is a slightly different matter. There are several different species of bamboo, but in the U.S. you may be more likely to encounter one of two species of cane with some shared properties -- all of which are related to grasses. There are also some invasive species of bamboo taking over some areas.

I have not heard of any species of bamboo or relatives native to North America being poisonous, you may want to be careful of your sources.

Prsona's correct, all rose species are edible. I'd suggest finding a premade tea for the bamboo leaf though, as most bamboo species aren't edible.
