Altar

So, I'm a beginner in magic and such and after reading a lot of stuff, the first thing I need is an Altar.
What exactly would I put on an altar?
If you could link me to a video or website or just take a picture of yours, that would be amazing!

Well, you don't /need/ an altar, but having one is nice.

Now, the altar depends on what you believe in. What are youe beliefs?

An altar is a location for religious aspects as well as meditation, personally because I have no faith and I do not regularly meditate I never bothered with an alter and I have done fine practicing without one.

You never need any item to practice, you can use things you already own, especially if you do not need them.

I see an altar as a magical workbench, it's a place to gather together whatever bits and pieces you're using for a particular working; candles, incense, herbs, etc. You set it up, perform the work and when it's finished take everything off again.

A shrine is a place of devotional focus to a deity(ies) or spirit and is a permanent sacred space. It usually has things that are associated with whatever deity you're honouring, including images, flowers, stones, candles and is a place to leave any offerings. I've included an image of my Dionysos shrine on my pictures as an example.
