Bind oneself to a deity
By:
Hi, I'm thinking of doing a binding ritual to a deity this Samhain and was wondering if anyone knew any tips or pointers? Because the only binding spells i could find were to bind someone's powers. And can I bind myself to 2 deities?

I would not call it "binding" myself to specific deities, but certainly one can decide to dedicate oneself to one or more deities with which you are going to work.

Think of it this way - binding implies that you are making a connection that may or may not be in accordance with your will or desires, sort of like chaining yourself to them. It is as if you are forcing yourself and the deity to work together. This puts a negative spin on the entire relationship.

On the other hand, dedicating yourself shows that this is done of your free will and that it is a mutual agreement between yourself and the deity in question.

There are many forms of dedication ritual that can be done. But remember that a relationship is also an ongoing thing. One receives benefits from it, but one also needs to provide benefits to the deity in question. As an example, when I dedicated myself to my deities I built a specific altar to them and make them regular offerings to maintain that relationship.

A book I'd highly recommend that discusses this sort of relationship is " Devoted to You " by Judy Harrow. You might find it useful.
