Starting from the top.

OK so i am still pretty new to magic and i have earned a great appreciation and wonder and amazment for it. However, despite what others tell me about where to start and all, i cant help feeling that the reason i fail spells is because i dont have it in me to do it. Like "blood" wise. With this thought over my shoulder i cant help but feel what i am trying to learn is for nothing. If only i knew that i had the power to do spells, maybe i would have the confidence to match and actually succeed. So i ask you all this: is the success on magic base on your bloodline? Do you need lineage of a past witch ancestor or something (magical blood) in order to do magic? Or can anyone do magic at all and it is a matter of concentration and determination? If it does matter if you have magical blood or not, is there a way to figure out if you have it or not?

There is no such thing as a "magical bloodline". Anyone can practice magic regardless of their parentage.

i agree with wrein.feather. your determination and the cause is the main thing. I suggest you don't jump into spells right now. Work a bit more on your basics and when you have got the confidence, determination and a definite cause, go for the spells.

Anyone can learn to do magic. It isn't something that has to be "inherited", nor does it have to do with having special "powers".

If you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

would there be any free versions of this? i dont have any means to pay for the books yet (like online credit card and such)and even if i did, i would get myself kicked out of the house i live in for owning such books. i currently live with my aunt and she is very religious and has already stated her views. she finds magic evil and satanic and has nothing good about it, even something like the theory behind healing spells. yah...HEALING is satanic to her. so the only way to read this is to get an online version so that i may read them and learn about magic in secret, which come down to payment. i dont have the means to purchase online. i have looks for free version but it is never the full book... what do i do now?
