Karma or threefold law

Well, everyone's talking about it, but how does it actually work?

How do the bad things come back?

What I mean, for example.. If I cast a love spell on someone, how and when would it get back?
And if I cast a curse , what then?

How do we measure what's "three times " worse, if not everyone's perception of things is the same..

I don't believe in the Threefold Law. That is primarily a Wiccan belief. I believe in karma and in Jesus' command to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I think that whatever you put out into the Universe, whether it be good thoughts, bad thoughts, good deeds, bad deeds, etc., it will come back to you in one or another.

Whether something is "good" or "bad" depends on your intentions towards it. If you give money to a charity because you truly want to help that charity, that's a good thing. If you give money to a charity because you want the recognition that you may receive from other people when they see how generous you were, then the recognition itself will be your reward because your intention was selfish. There will be no financial reward if your motive was self-centered.

Another example: There is plenty of money to be had in the world and having money for yourself is not a bad thing. I don't even think that doing money spells is a bad thing, but again, that depends on your motive. If you want money so that you can have a happier life and you plan to share your wealth and joy with others, then you will be rewarded. But if your intention in making money is to brag about it or show it off so that you can feel superior to other people, you will likely not make money and if you do make some money, you may lose it if you aren't grateful and humble about it.

The main thing is that you really have to get in touch with your inner self. You have to understand your own motives for the actions that you take. Most people really think they are good people, but I would venture a bet that the majority of people who think they are good are acting out of selfish motives. So that is something you might want to consider before casting spells.

One tip... I have found that the more you use your gifts and talents to help other people, the more the Universe/God rewards you with money and other nice things.

Karma is 'one' thing. It is the 'type' of energy/attitude you send out to the universe. IF you send out and do 'good' type things then the universe will 'return' the same type of energy to you. ( like attracts like ) Of course if you send out 'bad' type energy...well you get the picture.

As for the 'three fold law' that basically means that what you send out comes back times three. A long time ago when magic was new. It was discovered that what is sent 'out' comes back, why times three is something you'd have to ask a witch of old. Maybe it's because there are 'three' involved. You, the 'object' of the spell and then the universe. It is a 'rule' like casting for your 'own' benefit is 'forbidden'. If that were the case then 'all' witches would be 'rich'. I don't think the universe had THAT in mind due to a magical practice. So if you send out good spells and energy then good will come back to you times three. If your sending out 'bad' spells' and energy then the same. A love spell would 'not ' come back per se. The goodness of the 'intent' of the spell would be the deciding factor as to 'what' if anything comes back. What if your spell backfires OR the persons are NOT happy. The people you 'bind' together thru the spell are 'bound' for life. That type of 'unhappy' energy could come back to haunt you. Yea yea yea what if I just 'undo' the spell. WHY were you doing it in the first place ? Love spells are 'tricky' and not done at a whim or just because someone says ' I love this person'. Witches are 'supposed' to be wise !! ( one reason why ' I ' DONT do them ) Curses ? Well after all this explanation I think you get the idea.

We are taught early in our spiritual journey as Wiccans about the Three-Fold Law, that whatever we do for good or ill returns to us three-fold. It is a concept rife with misunderstanding and misinterpretations. We behave because we are afraid of being smacked with the Karmic paddle. Being good little Witches because we fear punishment if we break the rules does not make ethical beings, just clever ones. There is no Karmic scorekeeper out there keeping a list of who's been naughty or nice. There is no Divine retribution, or something like the Christian Hell for violations on the Rede. What the Three-Fold Law is telling us is that our choices of action have consequences for which we alone are responsible. And if our choices are consistently negative or harmful towards others, then the energy which tends to return to us will also be negative and harmful. The consequences of our actions come back to impact us physically, emotionally and spiritually. To live our lives full of anger, guilt, and negative thoughts can lead to both physical and mental illness right here in this lifetime. And it can affect our connections to the Divine. In effect, we become the tools of our own Karma.

I do not believe in karma or the three folds law, I've been doing curses for years and never had anything comeback to me. So I practice as I please (which i think everyone should) with no fear of it coming back.

well i don't know anything about the three fold law(may be because i live in india and never heard of it) okay coming to the point the karma has an effect the good the bad the past the future.

it is lot more difficult to understand how karma works, don't try to understand it took me a whole year to understand the effects of karma.

it is more complicated than it sounds

and it can only be understood by experience, not by reading the essence of it

trust me if you want to understand it will surely take a lot of time and you can understand only by experiencing it.
