It has been argued many a time that science has no place in magic.. I make this thread for all the skeptics of either side of this "discussion" to be able to voice his/her opinion/s in their entirety.. I will be patient in awaiting your thoughts..

i am a scientist (at least i aspire to be one) so i believe both arguments. but one cannot ignore the fact that spirituality and magick that can go with it is real (to the person(s))

Science does indeed have it's place, but in an environment of self study. Within the community at large, I've witnessed science time and time again cause believers of magick to have their faith shaken or even crushed.

Science is a process, magick is an art. Why would they be mutually exclusive?

I understand what you mean stoney. But not everyone can grasp completely the ins and outs of magic solely on vaguely accurate assumptions.. this is why there is such a gap in the intellectual curve.. that is to say calculating minds cannot subconsciously accept something that has little or no foundation. And the two are not as exclusive of each-other as we may think. Crystals/stones for example have a specific magnetic field, whether they attract metal or not.. this easily explains how different stones are used for specific needs.

magic is a science and an art, do you not try to get results? science is merely another way to explain things, scientifically. just as magic is a way to explain things, "magically." further your understanding by immersing yourself in many ways, and only use those that actually yield results.

I believe magic and science are two different things. Science involves the theories, experiments, etc. of man, while magic is actually natural and comes from within, surroundings,etc.. But they do have things in common, like they some of the extremes can be dangerous if they become faulty.

That is quite true, but science is based on assumptions also.. just because its proven one way or another doesn't make it sound fact.
