Hello. I would first like to ask how much has you studied on magic? There is a lot to take in here I realize. Reading is fundamental and can help you process things better. You could ask some members of your coven for advise, afterall that is what we do here. I suggest not jumping into anything to quickly. Take your time and learn. I wish you luck in your endeavors.

no offense, no one 'needs' a mentor, it can help, but most here learned on their own, and when they get stuck, they ask, they did not seek out a mentor. granted everyone's different, but it's probably best in the long run if you study on your own because eventually your path will go in a different direction than your mentors.

a mentor isn't always female, there's plenty of male witches who are very knowledgeable, so i hope you're not limiting yourself to one group [or that was a typo]

if you need someone to help you with problems, like someone upsetting you, you do have a series of options that doesn't require a mentor. you could meditate on your problems, have a journal, talk to someone you know like a friend or family, seek out your spirit guide for help. not sure where your from, but the kids help phone's another option. it's free and confidential, you get someone to talk to and give out advice for any problem you might have [my friend use to volunteer for them and i did a few fundraiser for the help phone, they're there to listen]

sorry to get off the mentor topic on that last point, just trying to provide solutions for you. what do you want to learn? [before you ask i don't teach] maybe explaining yourself more than a sentence might reap greater results. blessed be.

When you seek out a "mentor" or "teacher" it should be someone whom has achieved what it is you seek guidance on, or someone whom is in the process, perhaps achieved is the wrong word here- If I am on step 2 and you are on 1. I can help you through my experience to get through step one as that is my knowledge base. When we seek mentors, we need to be sure that it is someone that has the experience/knowledge that we ourselves are looking for. Also, if you have not even spoken with someone, please do not ask them to mentor you- as you do not "know" them- nor their style- You may find someone you "choose" to be your mentor, however they might find that they are not the one best suited to help you on your journey. It is a two way street with Mentors/Teachers. So research what it is you wish to gain more knowledge on, and see if you can find someone that is similiar with their path, so that you may learn

Your power will come from study and practice. As with anything, the more you put into it the more you get from it. You need to learn to control your mind, and personal energy first, with visualization, mediation, grounding and so on. Get a book for beginners, there are hundreds to choose from, such as "Simple Wicca", and start studying, then practicing, then you can grow your own power.

Have a look at the Advertisment forum. Some mentors are offering help and support for new students and are accepting new ones . You can contact them and ask them if they are willing to take you as one .

A stern reminder to anyone who aims to have someone to mentor them through the Advertisement Forum Section:

Please remember that you have to trust the person and be sure that they actually have knowledge and experience in the craft, because there will be people who'd lead you to the wrong directions and teach you wrong things. Just be careful and know what you're doing.
