if I were to start a tarot course what would be some of the things people would like to learn

Basics, I suppose. Spreads, types of readings, card meanings and interpretations.

Also about the history of the tarot cards.

the history of tarot sounds interesting. i'd sign up for that, i've just started with tarot [i tried when i was younger, never felt right] but i have a dragon deck and use the dragon spread, so i doubt a basic course of the normal spread would help me.

meaning into the cards, like death doesn't mean someone's going to die, though you could find that type of information in any tarot book.
