Magick, Real or Fake?

No, this isn't a question I am asking. It is more of an answer I have come up with.

Magick... The oldest form of science and religion. The Greeks used it to solve the day to day problems, like if your ship went underwater you would say Poseidon hates you for doing something you shouldn't have. If your house was caught on fire they would say Zeus have low favors on your family (I used Zeus because if lightning hit your house they did said Zeus). They just left it on the Gods and Goddess that they were misfortune, and even fortune, as the answer. They even had Alters where they do their Rites and Sacrifices towards the right God/dess they want help or favor from.

Even in Egypt they mostly did the same thing. They do Rites to gain favor in the afterlife and during their passage towards the afterlife. When you die, they said you have to go and pass the trails before you get to the door. I don't remember them by heart so they might be in disorder. You will go threw snakes, beetles, fire, and others. Once you get to the door then you meet the Gods that will judge your heart. They are Hall of Maat (the god of justice) by Horus (the god of the sky) and Thoth (scribe of the dead) by comparing ab (the conscience) and a feather. The Rite was called Weighting of the Heart I believe. Your heart must be balanced with the feather, if it was too heavy than it shows your too evil and if it was too light than your too good. Something like that I believe, but the point is that you have to have balanced karma to the feather itself.

I am sure your tired of the history lesson so lets go back to the question itself, is Magick real? In fact why am I even using Magick and not Magic? In order to answer the question you must have some understanding of it. What I have learned in the past, is that the "K" was there to place the Magic your talking about in a different subject. There are two kinds of magic, the illusion and occult. Illusion magic is tricks, the best example is the Magician in Tarot. He holds his hand above his head to point to the heavens while holds his other hand under the table to point to the Hells itself. Other people have switch heaven with sky or air and hell with earth or gaia. But what little of you know is that when he puts his hand, the wand, in the air your eyes looks at it to see what will happen up there. The coin in his other hand is under the table and is the real magic trick. Which means he is doing illusion than real Magick. The K in Magick just shows to other people that your really doing the occult and not just some tricks they do in Las Vegas.

So is Magick real? In a way, yes and also a no. Magick is indeed real, but not every info you find or feel is real Magick. The problem now a days is there is so much trash with the title "Magick!" I hear that you shouldn't trust books about Magick because they are false right off the bat and just going for the money. I also hear people saying they are Mystical beings like wolves or vampires. Now do you understand why I said Magick is real in a way but isn't real? Too many people in the world want Magick to be real because either their life sucks or they want a better world for themselves to live in. They are the ones that puts false info and practices in the world for people that really want to do Magick for what it is. Now if your getting offended by reading this, then your the type that really wants it to be real and hopping your life will be on a better road. That isn't a bad thought, but your putting too much thought on it and not looking at the bad side of your doings. Like what my teacher said to me once in the past, "If you don't do it than you have nothing to worry about."

But what about the answer yes? Magick is indeed real, but very limited. It is there and we can touch, but we cannot change it with our own hands. We cannot, lets say if your a wiccan, cast a spell to change the sky colour. Better yet cannot cast a spell to change our eye colour. No matter what you do, you cannot change anything just by casting a spell. But we can use other things to extend our arms reach and do a little change. Like if your wanting a job you can put some salt in your left pocket. Yeah it sounds boring, but if you believe it will help than you won't be so scared and talk what you normally would. It may not give you the job, but it sure as hell made you closer to it.

So now you have got the short answer of "Magick, Real or Fake?" Now take a look at the forums here, do they scream "I want a big change" or scream "I want a small change?" In fact, I don't like how I put those words. Lets call it this, if for big change it would be Wannabe, and for small change it will be Wanna-help. That sounds a lot better and simple. Wanna-help just means the person wants help and advise or maybe wants to help you. Wannabe just throws in random things and try to make it sound right and to show proof they are right no matter what.

Hopefully you found this to be very helpful. Any questions would be great.

Thank you for your comments and no I didn't put very much time on this. I just had to post this because I had a dream last night. I was looking threw the net and reading some posts about magick. I noticed that everyone that posted something sounded so fake and had little to no proof besides the person saying it is real and that they tried it out. After I woke up I thought about talking about it, but had a better idea of posting this on this old site.

Meh there are tons of misconceptions about Magick on the net. But oh well, there are lots of misconceptions on anything really on the internet, and also people who just won't accept the reality as it is.

Well if it is that good, maybe a mod should stick this.

I was looking threw NetFlixs one day and I found Star Wars. But not the movies Star Wars, but a long movie on how the story of Star Wars was symbolic of the past. From Greek to Christian to Hitlers army and raise. When I saw that I remember that anything is symbolic now a days because so much time has passed.

I like what you said, but I think there is another point of magick. It isn't just doing minor changes, but changing one's outlook on life and improving yourself through training and study of the inner workings of the mind. Most of the fantasy things people wish they could do are really just forms of science that people didn't understand back when they were wrote as sorcery in tales and odes.
Take the fireball. It is one of the most misconstrued forms of magic in my opinion. From what I can find, it seems that the practitioners of old simply had sulfur and guano (or some other combination of a high intensity burning material and a slow burning substance that would stick when heated) in a ball, lit it on fire by some means, and tossed it.
Another highly fantasied thing is werewolves. Hollywood has a lot to do with this, but so does the imagination of people back hundreds of years ago. Witches used to take a wolf pelt and wear it like a cloak under the full moon for the spook factor, and for some rituals. Whether or not that is where all of the werewolf stories come from or not, I do not know, but I do know that superstitious people could very well see that as sighting a werewolf.
I am not saying that these fantasies are not possible, just not possible to my knowledge or probable. I doubt anyone on this site would be able to say otherwise. If by some miracle or weird twist of fate someone could do that, then why in the world would they waste their time on a fluff-infected site such as SoM?
I myself will never stop trying to find new things of the craft or expand my knowledge of what is already known. I will not count anything out as impossible, but I know my limitations and I know what is worth studying.

I loved this post ... u are right ... most of people think like they are vampires ... most of it is bcs of movies like Twilight or etc! even me ... like when i was about 15 :D ...

but i think the real magick is all about energy ... i think the Art of controlling the energy is Magick !
that is why we cant do many thing as our energy is limited ...
we are using Nature, moon and all other things that we know to get more energy ...

"If there where noting people wouldn't say many things !"
