Almost there?

For over a year I've been periodically trying to AP. I've gotten to the point where I can feel vibrations of energy running through my entire body, but I can't seem to let go of my physical body for some reason.
Can anyone suggest me some kind of technique to help me out?

I experienced similar when I first began altering my state of mind so that I could tap into other levels. I tried different techniques, I sought after more information on it, all to little avail. It helped me gain a better understanding, yes, but it didn't help me detach from my physical body. I learned that the biggest I obstacle anyone will face is themselves. I looked at this practice and how I was performing and I recognized that I had fear, fear to let go and release. I confronted my fear, meditated on it, and I began using a mantra when I was putting myself into a trance. I would say " Release control to gain control ".

Sage advice indeed. My go-to for similar 'letting-go' mantras is "he who submits, rules." ^_^

In the end, it takes practice and repetition. it can take some conditioning to the new sensations before your mind and body will get used to the idea and just let it happen. Sudden experiences, especially new ones, kick in the survival instinct which snaps you back to where you started.

I suppose it could be thought of as the mental version of skydiving. The first time you sit there staring out to nothing, you can feel every cell of your body clenching up and yelling 'no-no-NO!'

But after the first drop (and maybe a heart attack or two), the body and mind become desensitized to it and then it's just like stepping outside for a walk.

If you are having trouble leaving your body, try rolling out, as if you were just turning over.

Thank you each of you. I haven't had time to try these methods yet, but I will definitely give them a shot!
