Your Bibliomancy Library

Bibliomancy is the art of using the words and sentences in a book to answer a question...picked randomly.

Although, I think it does work quite a bit better if it's a story that you have a general connection to and you consider most lines just full of wisdom. So, my Bibliomancy library looks (or will look, once I get copies of my own for all titles) like this:

The Neverending Story, by Michael Ende
Peter Pan, by J.M. Barrie (novel, not stageplay)
Alice In Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll
Alice's Adventures Through The Looking-Glass, by Lewis Carroll
Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship Of Her Own Making, by Catherynne Valente

It's for the same reason my tarot card collection is 75% fairy-themed and like one zombie deck. Because I love stories about otherworldly journeys, and just feel more of a connection to them.

What's your bibliomancy library like? Or what would it be like?

I would use a book from Narnia or Lord of the Rings, because I love both of those and they are my strongest connections.

Compared to you guys I feel boring and old :P I use The Oxford Library of English Poetry vol. II. The poetry has always appealed to me. I've never tried using fantasy but I imagine you can get some pretty unique results.

I've never been familiarized much with Bibliomancy though I've run across it once or twice. This is something I need to look further into being a large divination enthusiast myself.

The common ones I use are:

Alice in Wonderland
My Sweet Audrina
The Help

But usually I use any book that catches my interest or am in the mood to read. :D

All the Harry Potter books
Fallen series
Fight back - Steve Voake

Some of the best books I've ever read! The fantasy strangeness behind all if them just makes me fall in love!

Have you ever tried a library?
Have your question just the same.
Then find a book.
Find a page.
Find a sentence.

Add in the ability to be "pulled" towards various books/pages/sentences and it can be very interesting.

I'm lucky to have started collecting books when I was a kid so my collection is big (but not big enough), so I usually pick one of my books at random. Close my eyes and pluck type deal. Usually when I have a question I turn to the scrying waters or to bibliomancy (if I don't turn to the spirits for aid). My collection is assorted by alphabetical genre, so when it comes to bibliomancy I tend to go to the section most relevant to my question.

Ive turned to the Dark History of Kings and Queens of England for multiplw questions, enough times I think it's my go to book for broad questions. I also turn to my bible and my copy of Romeo and Juliet. Besides those three books, it's pretty much a random pick.
