What is that ability?

Yesterday i was chatting with my friend on fb.
He - What is your astral name?
I - Don't know.
He - Meditation must have revealed it.
I - No.
He - Okay so now you will feel a slight pressure in your temples and a little pain in your head.
I - Yes. Ready.

And then suddenly i felt a slight pressure building up in my temples and a little pain in my head. It was as if my memory of something was resurfacing. I was just gonna know the name but couldnt know it probably cause my mind was not empty. He tried once again but in vain.

What is that ability called? How to develop it?

Sounds to me like all that happened was that he merely asked you about a pressure and pain and your mind made it happen; thus, he used no ability to cause this other than a sort of reverse psychology.

It's called guided meditation. You prepare for meditation and another person guides you trough what you are supposed to do in order to achieve what ever it is you are trying to achieve. And yes it is revers psychology but that doesn't mean what you experienced is just your imagination it could be you really were close to learning your astral name. What you need, i think is for some way to be sure which is it.
As for the ability - your friend is probably someone whom you trust and you allowed hit to guide you. Your trust made you do what he told you. You could possibly do the same for someone else but leave it for now until you feel you have enough knowledge of the astral yourself.

I do believe that's not guided meditation as guided meditation is being verbally guided through the steps/process of meditation. Asking a couple questions then giving a blatant statement about a feeling wouldn't be guiding one through meditation.

completely agree with vanitys_fire.

it was just a case of reverse psychology. your friend said that you would feel the pressure and pain, and so you felt a little bit of them which was a result of your mind accepting that it would happen. When you felt a little bit of pain and pressure, your mind made you think that what your friend said was turning true and as a result, the pressure and pain increased.

This has nothing to do with guided meditation :)
