Ingredients/ tools are very good and helpful, especially for beginners but not absolutely necessary. You may or may not use them. However they really do help but you can pretty much practice magick without any tools whatsoever. You can purchase some tools and ingredients you wish to have, or make them by yourself .Just a thought. But again, tools are not necessary for beginners to start with witchraft, many other things can be done.

Also do not forget that some things need to be learned and practiced before jumping to using magic tools and performing rituals or casting spells.
I wouldn't recommend you to immediately start charing items such as necklaces or casting spells / performing rituals with using wands, etc.
You need to learn the basics and practice some other things ( such as meditation and energy manipulation, centering and grounding).

Here is a recommended link to information about the basics:

After You have read this, deeply learned about it and practiced by using the methods you were given in this thread - you can start doing all what you want.
Yes, you can keep having a book of shadows, charging items with positive energy ( such as necklaces), working and meditating with different stones, using wands, etc. But once again remember that doing these things are necessary but recommended, if you do not do that it won't make you a worse magick practitioner. You can start with what we all start with and you will be just as good as other people are.

Even if later you will decide to choose casting spells without using wands or candles, your spells will be still effective and you'll still be a magic practitioner. These tools are helpful indeed, but moreover , there are many things you can do which require no tools whatsoever, you can meditate, without any tools, you can work on your chakras, energy manipulation and so on. These things are the factors that make your spells and magical workings effective, in fact.

This all depends on your decisions as an individual magick practitioner. You are the one who controls your actions you take during living your life, so you have the option to choose. If you decide something, it is the best decision for you.

So just remember this, there are many things you can do which require no tools whatsoever, you can meditate, without any tools, you can work on your chakras, energy manipulation and so on. But you are the one who has the options to choose what to do. Also please follow the recommendation about the basics.

To the person above who brought up the money problem.

Firstly, read my post above and understand that basically you can perform magick without necessarily using different tools and optional recommendations given about the craft.
If you read the post you'll see that this topic was the main subject of the other post I've made for this thread.
So the proper answer is given there, feel free to read it :)
Just to remind you examples for what you can do (from my last post), I'll sum it up for a little:

There are many things you can do which require no tools whatsoever, you can meditate, without any tools, you can work on your chakras, energy manipulation, practice the basics before you move on to other forms of magick, and so on.

If you still wish to use tools and ingredients remember that you can always make them by yourself.
This is totally free and a suitable solution for you problem, and i can assure you that it is extremely enjoyable to do it !
It also comes from your personal energy ( which is better for you) and is dedicated especially for your desire and will.
