the purpose of magick

Aleister Crowley defined magick as the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with the will. Anyone with any amount of study has run across this definition.

What people do not seem to grasp, is that 99.9% of magick induced change is within ourselves. Our subconsious process are rewired by beliefs and acts of faith.

If you are pursuing the craft to throw fireballs, create whirlpools, fly, change into other beings, etc., then you are accomplishing self (inner) magick, indeed. Just not the kind you expect or hope for.

Hope this gets through to at least some of the noobs.

great points stoney i agree with you too many people have an "idea" of what magick is with harry potter and dragon ball z crap that they watch on t.v

it starts with having belief in yourself to and so many "noobs" don't have confidence in themselves

A Crowley fan? He's lovely.

It is somewhat sad that there have been multiple posts on this site, such as this one, that clear up the matter that certain things are either unachievable or simply different than what you'd expect- however, large masses flock everyday with the same questions over these things without reading through any of the forums first.

Loved it. I totally agree for the simple fact that any energy you put out there is going to have more of an impact on yourself then the world. By having faith that the magic you do will work you are creating faith in yourself. This alone can have a major impact on peoples lives ^_^
