Tarot circle

I have an affinity for the Grand Arcana and was hoping to adapt a basic circle ritual using the cards as the means to raise my circle. Certain cards for the Guardians and Spirit and the Emperor and Empress as the Great God and Goddess. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or has anyone tried it before.

It has most certainly been done! I've read a little in a book called Portable Magick which is all about using tarot symbolism (focusing specifically on the RWS deck) for casting circles and directing energy. There are other books which go into detail about using the archetypal symbolism in the cards for a version of ritual magic.

I knew it! I was reading a book today that the High Priestess of my coven gave me and it was comparing the Arcana to the Guardians of the Watchtowers. So I'm sure the symbolism of the cards would work for the 4 guardians. Emperor and Empress for God and Goddess. Maybe the Moon for Spirit. Or the Aeon which is what I would use. I'm getting an idea now...

That's another idea that'd be very cool but I wonder if there's enough cards in the standard deck...tho I suppose id lay my normal circle beneath just in case

Are you sure it is actually a tarot deck and not an oracle if it has 83 cards? What is it called?
