Substitutions! For example, Many spells call for frankincense, well where I live it is impossible to find, and when I do find it, its extremely expensive. So early on I learned a great substitute for frankincense is rosemary. Rosemary is easy to find and a lot more affordable! You can also just get the seeds of rosemary and grow it yourself, so you never have to buy it again. Hope this helped :D

There really isn't much I can add, I agree with the above.

Use what you have! Be resourceful!

Look around the house and make a list of everything you have in the spice cabinet, pantry, and the fridge you think would be useful. Then start writing out the different magical uses for them. There are many websites that have herb associations on them. Do a Google search to find some of them.

as you probably know you can get candles , incense, and scented oils from your local grocery store you can also find some oils in the cooking section like coconut oil. A great way to save money is to have a herb garden that includes more than just cooking herbs you can use rose petals to make homemade rose oil. Also keep jars and dry your own herbs. you can use a large cooking pot from your kitchen as a cauldron just be sure to cleanse and purify it first c:

Aside from what everyone else suggested I recommend second hand stores for candles and holders ,incense burners sometimes incense too ,cauldrons, statues that can represent deities, bells altar tables and just about anything else. The trick is to go often since stock comes and goes often even grandma s basement or attic you woulds be surprised at what you can find and re purpose. There are even many Youtube videos on this.
As some one said Rosemary can be used as a substitute for almost any herb and as incense ,basil too, pick fallen rose petals from bushes around your home dry them out and use for spells ,oils and incense. Olive oil from the kitchen can be used to annoint candles and make magickal oils,Oh $1 stores too you can find lots of things there offering bowls ,statues ,chalice ..
Good luck.

A really cheap and useful thing to use is Cinnamon. In general it means success, but a lot of times can also be used for prosperity. Use it to boost your spells success rate. Most people just have it laying somewhere in their cabinets.

Herbs can be bought for cheap at food stores, or you may have some in your home already. They usually don't have many types and normally aren't great quailty but its better than nothing.
Candles can be bought at dollar stores for very cheap.
Oils are hard to come by cheap, unless you make them yourself which takes time. But looking online you can get some for good prices.
