Summoning Fairies?

I'm terribly sorry. I'm new here and I have a question about summoning fairies. On most of the spells we are required to draw them. Are we supposed to write their personalities too? And do we have limits on there powers. May you guys and galls please give me more information on this. Thank you mates.

Becareful with the fae! They are not like Tinkerbell. The New Age movement has caused people to see fae as these sweet little childlike magickal beings. But they were originally called "fair folk" in fear that if they were insulted by calling them something closer to their true natures (mischievious, tricky, and sometimes downright nasty!) they would become angry and take out revenge on the person! Offerings were given in hopes they would see the offerer as useful and not cause them misery. Sometimes offerings were given in hopes to capture a fae and force it to do things. Very rarely were offerings made to attract the fae just to have them around. They were seen as dangerous pests!

The fae are powerful and can be very helpful, but you need to know what type of fae you want and what they like and don't like. Definitely don't call them fairies...

If you want to experience fae, be ready for things to disappear or be moved around your home. You might even become more accident prone if you've annoyed them. There are plants that naturally attract them, from personal experience, I know thyme does. To keep yourself sane with fae around, only call on one, know exactly what you're calling and how to get rid of it if it gets out of hand, don't trust the name they give you (it's probably false), and be consistent with showing him/her positive attention. Fae tend to gain strong attachments to those they like. So be prepared to have a long term relationship with the spirit.

I wouldn't "summon" but rather naturally attract one with things they will like. You can call to one, but don't pull one to you. It may become angry and resentful.

I thought I made it clear that I don't believe summoning the fae is a good idea. =)

Well, I guess you could write down their personalities, but if they're really so pesky then I don't think that would really matter. I don't really know much about the fae, but I think they would rather be taken seriously instead of being treated like pretty little creatures that you created from scratch. At least that's how I would feel if I was one of them.

They sometimes appear by their selves in rings of dark grass and mushrooms. They also will be attracted to new born babes and new cattle. A helpful fairy will bring you luck, health, and they'll recover lost things for you. An evil fairy will give you bad luck, spoil your food, and terrorize animals and babies. A great way to trap a fairy is to wait for a fairy to appear in a circle of mushroom after you've lined the ring with salt and then cast and close a circle around the fairy. Be careful for fairies can hold a grudge forever. If you must combat a fairy use pure iron weapons. Goodluck. This is all the folklore I know.
