wicca is truley a wonderful religion, but yet its 2011 and peopol still look down on it,it makes no sense,im not dissing on christans at all but i feel that some of the christan beliefs are filled with such hatrid, example:somewhere in the bible it says childern who disrespect there parents should be stoned to death?its fine for other religions to talk about wicca but when wiccans speak up its wrong?wiccans accually live there religion while reigions like christans only take out 1 or 2 days of the week to worship there god...not to mention the ridicous sterotypes..(and i no i spelled things wrong)

Don't be too upset. Times are changing. In 1951 witchcraft was illegal in my country. Now it is a recognised religion. Anybody who scorns you the answer is "You believe what you wish; and I will believe what I wish"
Don't worry, believe what you believe.

I don't really believe that hatred is targeted exclusively at wiccans. I think you'll find such attitudes are rife inside, and towards, many religious practices in our world. Even members of the same religions are intolerent of each other! :)

I forgot who it was who first said it but, Never discuss religion or politics! =)

It will surely end in a heated debate unless you both agree and that doesn't happen often. I particularly enjoy discussing religion, but that's because I never turn down a good debate and its very difficult for me to feel truly insulted.

I would like to point out that its not just Wicca. People look down on any religion that practices magick. I also know that many people look down on mainstream religions as well because they feel that they are the enemy. In my opinion people are always going to fight about something. I think each religion is important because they offer a variety of beliefs that people find comfort in. Just dont worry about what people think. Let people believe what they want. Every religion will have enemies. Just look at the jews christians and muslems. They all worship the same supreme being, and yet hate each other because they view the others as doing it wrong. So the christians hate on us because their book tells them too, its ok because they are getting hate from people too.

Once again WhiteRaven has it right! The old adage that "One man's meat is another man's poison." Is not referring to food!

I agree with the one who posted this. I have seen a lot of hatred towards wicca. Now I cant even go into the metaphysical section of Borders without people coming over and "warning" me that if I practice witchcraft im going to go to hell.

Of course, different people have different opinions, and every religion gets at least a little hate. You have to learn to live with it!

Of course, I dont like Christianities ways, but that doesnt mean I dont respect it.

I haven't had a single negative word spoke towards me about my religious beliefs since I was much younger. Then again, I don't walk around flaunting or getting into conversations with complete strangers to allow this to happen either.

Everyone is entitled to like or dislike what they want. Yes, many people are against Paganism as a whole but frankly, unless those people attempt to change laws regarding my freedom of religion, I honestly don't give a hoot one way or the other as to what they have to say about it.
