Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could just give me a few pointers in tarot. I'm completely new to this and only know that they offer a form of divination. So thanks guys and hope you'll help :)

Blessings

Hope you already bought your tarot deck. Now what you have to do is buy a book, I suggesting you a list of wonderful books which are treasure it its own way:

1. Tarot for yourself- Mary K. Greer
2. Seventy Eight Degrees of wisdom- Rachel Pollock

If possible enroll yourself to a Tarot workshop.

Best of luck!

In the beginning, you can clean the deck with incense.

Use only the major arcana (22 cards)

Do not shuffle the cards so they come up side down, Because this gives the cards a different meaning. (opposite/negative)

Learn what each card means.

In a few weeks, take 1 card everyday.

Then you can increase the number and begin to take 3 cards, 5 cards, 7 cards etc.

Then you can start to use the minor arcana (40 cards)

a Tip: carry your tarot when you go out somewhere and play with it! Dont take it too seriously. ;)

Do only readings for your friends until you feel confident.

Remember that just 1 card can have Many meanings. The real knowlegde is within you.

When you do a reading for someone else - You must be clear and objective. Otherwise you will mix up your energies with the clients energies. (not good) I suggest meditation.

a Tip: Do not eat before you do a reading. Then you will lose your concentration.

And when you do a reading - do not rush! Sometimes it can take 30 minutes or more.

Good luck!

My tips may mirror others...

Get a black cloth or wooden box to contain them. Get a crystal, clean it, put it in the box or cloth with them. Cleanse them with incense.

Buy a book. As you read through it and learn about the different cards, stop after reading about each card, pick up that card, and see what you see in it. Write in a notebook your reflections as well as the books descriptions, but in your own words, about that card. Move on to the next. It will take several days to get through this. Don't overload your brain.

Everyday, shuffle through them. Do this at a time when you haven't just eaten and aren't really tired or stressed. Infuse them with your personal energy.

Sleep with them under your pillow. Your dreams will be more welcoming to divination.

Don't allow anyone to touch them while you are getting to know your cards except for you.

Begin with readings just for yourself. When you do begin to read for others, don't judge the answer. Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean it won't for the person you are reading for.

Blessed be

i do tarot lessons as well as assist with readings if you ever have questins you are more han welcome to mail me at any time. my biggest advice is to go with what you feel. even if the cards have a set meaning, that meaning is vague and your instict will provide a good guide for them as to a deeper meaning
