it really comes down to your set of morals if it's right or wrong. if you use 'black magick' when all else failed and you're out of options, then it would be fine karmically speaking. if someone knocked you down while running to class so you hex them, then you'll feel some negative karma your way. with any spell you should meditate on it, figure out if a spell is needed and the one you've chosen is the right one before you cast.

Well.. Yeah, magic has no color.. Put it this way..
People say black magic is to hurt someone and so on right?.. Imagine this.. you're in war.. You need to protect your friends family and people around you.. By doing it you need to hurt ones that attack you.. Is that good or bad?
Well its my logic.. On other side if you are evil guy and hurt everyone for no reason, well.. That is bad..

Like Nekoshema mentioned, it just depends on whether or not you believe in karmatic consequences.
