Shadow Creature?

Hello,
My name is Chezume.
I have made this thread today, because I am trying to discover what creature it is that I am seeing.
Two months ago I was sitting in my room on my laptop when I noticed something sitting in the corner of my room. It was basically a shadow within a shadow.
It was probably about knee high on me if I was to stand next to it.
I would have to say that the hair on it looked wiry and un-brushed. Sort of hung over the eyes, but the eyes were glowing red and it looked as though it had a chesire grin with all pointy teeth.

After that night, I never really noticed it again.

Until last night in my dream, there was a painting of the creature. Except this time you could tell the gender of it and it's eyes were black when the light was on it instead glowing red in the shadows. The facial features were still the same in a sense. A round face, big round eyes, the same eyes and the same hair.. Black and wiry, completely un-brushed.

My sister and I think that it would be either an Imp or a gremlin. But I am not 100% sure. This is the second I have seen this creature, and I would love to know what it is, so that I can do more research on it.

If anyone has any idea, please let me know. I would like to check them out.

I don't know for sure what it is but if I were you, I'd try communicating with it. It could be anything, even your imagination, but you should try communicating with it in case it wants to tell you something. Maybe it's some kind of spirit or something. Sorry, I'm not of much help here.

The shadows communicate empathically. They enjoy hide-and-seek, but be careful- this is predator instinct. They are physical animals, but impossibly fast and extremely advanced in terms of both technology and magic. Most are psychic vampires, and many watch you while you sleep.

@ NekoKyrie: Thank you. I was definitely thinking about communicating with this creature, but I wanted to be sure that I knew fully what I was messing with. Thank you once again, for your help.

@ sav1orz: So, are you saying that this creature is just called a "Shadow" as well? Or is there a more specific type of name to it? Because if there is I would like to look it up specifically. I would love to know more about it, especially if I was to try to communicate with it, and figure out what it wants exactly.

Sounds like a nature spirit that's either dark or neutral.

Could be a folletto of some sort (there is a huge variety). Perhaps a brownie, or if it has hooves, a korred.

The best thing to do is offer it something like honey. Nothing I would worry about.

It could be a spirit, but thats not what I'm used to.

Yes, they are usually just called 'shadows', but you could try corporeal shadow, shadow creature, shadow animal, or shadow person.

Personally, I think it has to much character and detail to be a shadow (thoughtform formed from accumulated negative energy). Shadows I've seen were purely black, like a 3D black mass that is shaped as an animal, person, or creature. Your description of the hair, teeth, and altering colored eyes, makes me think its a genuine spirit, not a thoughtform. Its size is definitely fitting to the little people. They aren't all pretty, and many can shapeshift into whatever they want. Many housedwelling ones like to hide/reside in dark corners or behind furniture.

I believe he's testing to see how you will respond to knowing he's there. He has probably been there for a while. Many house dwelling nature spirits like to have close relationships with the resident(s). They can be great allies or your worst enemy depending on how you treat them. When you're nice to them, they're known to bring luck and added protection to a home.

In Norse belief such beings are called land weights and elves. Italians call them filetti Every culture uses a different name.

This is all really interesting.

Is there anyway that I could possibly communicate with it, with out offending it?

And is it possible that these creatures could be causing sickness or negative attitudes with the residence of the household? Causing the person to act out rudely in a manner that they should not?

Did you notice how it left? This could tell you for sure if it's a spirit like whiterav3n says or an animal like I think. If it darted out very quickly or seemingly got absorbed by the wall/floor, it was an animal. If it just disappeared or did something that seems impossible, it was a spirit.

If I'm right, it could make one feel sick and angry. Try reaching out to it when your in a good mood. If you see it again, treat it like a bird. Don't get too close or make sudden movements. If you get a very pleasant feeling, that's its way of saying 'go ahead'. Now you may approach it.

In all honesty I have no idea how it disappeared because I didn't stare at it long enough. I stared just long enough to get some features and then I looked away because it kind of freaked me out, then I looked back a moment later and it was gone. But I will admit I did hear scuffling sounds, so I'm guessing it could not be a Spirit, right?

But the next time I see it, I will definitely try to communicate, because I would to love to understand it's purpose as of now. Especially, since I've seen once in my room, then seen it again in a dream.
