goodbye my familiar....

hello...

I'm not sure why i'm sharing this but I guess i need someone to talk to. Today was a VERY depressing day....You see I had a pet dove whom is my Familiar and best friend. The thing is my dad hates him because he likes to sing in the morning while he's sleeping. But dad get angry and normally gets up and yells at him to be quite and pokes him with stuff. I've tried ways to keep him quiter without getting mad at him (i know he's just a bird but please keep reading...)

Its a bird ive tried explaining that you cant keep him quite it's like telling a dog not to bark. I've tried talking to dad about it but he just gets annoyed. My mom thinks my birds singing is lovely. But now thats changed...my dad got so annoyed he walked into my room today grabbed my birds food and cage and walked out the door.

my first reaction was running after him yelling and i did. He told me he hates the bird and hes sick of him so he's giving him away....my best friend gone with a blink of an eye...my bird now has a home at my great grandma's place but its not the same without him i feel as if a part of me is gone. my great grandma lives farway from me.

So does anyone know what can treat depression? My dad and i were fighting like usual but today was worse because my best friend is gone. At school i have no friends because im differ and i see the world differently...

so please if anyone knows how to cure pain and depression and even any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

When i get depressed i start talking to myself and my dad caught me now he wants to take me to the hospital cause he thinks somthing is wrong with me and yet my mom and brother are laughing saying im insain and that they are happy the birds gone...

Losing a familiar is very hard. My cat I had for 14 years died last year, it was really hard and I was depressed for a while.
Try talking to your dad calmly about it and express what you feel, maybe write down what you want to say ahead of time.
Try to work with him on it so that way you can both be happy about it.
And if you can't keep it you could probably set up dates to visit with your bird since its at your great grandmother's house
I hope everything works out for you.

:( i'm sorry to hear that. i can relate, i had a dog when i was 3 we were inseparable. when i was 8 or 9, he was taken by someone and killed. anyway, i remember many years after he died, i could sense him with me, sometimes, i could even feel him lying down beside me in my bed.

try talking with your dad. you could look into vitamin d [sunlight] and exercise, those two things i've been told a lot work well with depression because they release endorphins or something and make you feel better.

I've never had a familiar, but it seems awful to lose one. I'm so sorry to hear the unfortunate news. You have my greatest condolences.

I'm so sorry but I need you to help me. How do I get a familiar? I have always wanted a bird or a wolf but I don't know how to get one. Help please. Again I am so sorry. Just talk to him and spill the beans about it being your familiar.

You cannot 'get' a familiar in the literal sense, they kind of just appear. You cannot chose them, they choose you. For example, I have a raven familiar. It is a specific bird that just shows up wherever I am and let's me hold it and such.
