Vampyrism-cleaning it up

Okay so in light of the recent Twilight movie and books poisoning the minds of the easily gullible, the ignorant and our youth; I feel inclined to yet again post this thread and try to clear up any misconceptions about Vampyres..so here it is..

I've noticed that Vampyrism seems to be a hott topic on this site yet very few actually know the truths behind it. This thread is pretty much where you can post any questions you might have regarding any form of vampyrism and they will gladly be answered. It's one of those things for me that I can't really answer the "What is it about?" question, it's better for me to answer specific ones so I'm giving opportunity for people to ask those specific questions xD So without further, just something to start you off....

True vampyrism isn't a choice, just to clear up that misconception. You don't get bitten by another vampyre to become one, you're not repelled by garlic and you don't get burned by sunlight(not to hollywood intensity anyways lol no, I'm not saying sun burns are a myth xD). We don't go sneaking around at the wee hours of the nite, creeping through peoples houses and then sucking them dry of blood(many of aren't even comfortable walking into a stranger's house). Natural occuring vampyrism is pretty much a disorder in which the vampyre's body either lacks the energy needed to properly sustain life(thus leading to chronic illness, headaches, fatigue, ect.) or cannot properly circulate energy(presents similar symptoms). The said vampyre needs to feed(either through energy or blood) to make themselves healthy again.

And here is where I stop to leave it open for questions lol

isismoon, im geussing from you post you think thay vampires are superhuman in some way?

what shadowwolf said is correct. And their skin doesnt't glow and that kind of stuff. I rather hated it when the twilight series came out because half the students in my school were looking for a way to become a vampire.

Vampires can only create another vampire through reproduction, and there is an old ritual called siring (sire-ing) where they make you a half-blood (in other words a lower class slave) but it was banned by the vampire council in the late 14th-18th century (im not sure on the date).

I knew a few vampires and they've come out to the world about being vampires and they feed of each other every week-3 weeks, they are married and they have told me the worse syptom they have ever gotten was a rash because of the sun. Other then that there is nothing in what twilight set up their vampires to be...

And also for everyones information i find vampires much kinder then humans (of which i am a human) and much more tollerant of peoples flaws.

this had to be said, ShadowWolf is right :D

There's a few ways to tell whether you are a vampyre or not. One way is that you can tell is to research it on an astral level, however, I wouldn't recommend it as your number one option because not every has those sorts of means. If you're sickly often (as stated above), and you've exhausted all of your medical options and you still have problems, you MIGHT be a vampyre. If one or both of your parents are/were vampyres, it would be something to look into. If you find your company easily affecting your mood without even realizing it, you're either just an empath or you're a vampire. There's many ways to tell but that's just a few of them.

I have done research on vamps as well, but what you have said throws a few things into a different perspective. I have a few questions.
Vampires do not really need blood, they can feed on energy. Correct? Do they normally have fangs? Are they light-sensitive at all as far as the eyes are concerned? Are they normally distrustful of people they don't know? What effects besides poor health might come from lack of feeding?
