Dreams?

The past few weeks I have been curious about dreams. I have not done much research on dreams, but I have to start somewhere, right? Well, I've been wondering what the significances of dreams are. I've heard many different theories. I've heard that your dreams could be a way of showing you in a direction or path you should take, or they try to show you something important.

I reccently had a dream that my cat had come back and when I woke up I relized it was just a dream. I felt like I was going to cry. It was at that moment that I realized that maybe my dreams are was of showing emotion or they are feelings. All my dreams that I've had have either made me happy, sad, scared, etc.

I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but it's the most recent lead I have thus far.

"Dreaming is the communication between our conscious mind and our unconscious mind...Dreams let us play out painful or puzzling emotions or experiences in a safe place. Dreams also allow us to process information or events that may be painful or confusing in an environment that is at once emotionally real but physically unreal."

Different people interpret dreams differently. The idea that your dreams are portraying emotions is probably a good assumption. They probably are also there to help you deal with those emotions, or just be conscious of them.

Sometimes I have spiritual dreams and they are a vision that is a message that my conscious mind can't comprehend but its like a download of spiritual data that my subconscious mind uploads guiding me or taking me to new place's in my life. That's one way my dreams are significant to me.

Dreams are something that make me curious as well. I often have dreams about the future, just little pictures, but I can't seem to walk down the street without re-seeing one of these pictures. Mabey dreams are supposed to do that.

I think, dreams could be different. Many dreams are just fantastic vision that only show our desires. But, there could be real visions of a future too.
Interesing is book by Artemidorus.

The belief I have on dreams is that theres different types of dreams. These are to name a few, with some characteristics.
Messages: Message dreams are normally messages from ether your higher self (your soul), a deity, another person, or a spirit (like a passed on loved one). They can be very direct, but a lot of times its more of a code. Someone is trying to tell you something basically. It may be something you need to do or need to know, information about whats happening in a situation, a warning, or just something you need to hear or someone needs to tell you.
Past Life: Dreams that are memories of a life you lived before. These are usually very vivid, feel very real in every sense, and feel familiar even though you don't know the places or people you're with.
Projection: Projection is when your mind leaves your body and goes elsewhere, ether around the current universe you're in, a alternate universe, or another realm. Within the current universe, everythings the same but you physically aren't there. It would be described as being a ghost or being invisible. You may be able to walk around, go other places of the world, watch people, etc. Alternate universes are sister universes which are similiar to our world, with versions of the places here and the people here but different choices were made there than were made here, which makes that universe different than this. A place may look differently because someone decided to paint the walls yellow instead of blue, a person might be different because they decided to work at a book store rather than a gas station. Another realm is basically another world, but many things about it are different or don't exist here. These dreams are also usually very vivid and confusing.
Psychic Dreams: These are dreams of things that are yet to happen, most people already know what this is so I don't really need to explain it I suppose. Only thing I would say is that they don't always happen because the future has a way of changing, even with a small choice that was made.
Some dreams are just dreams, just parts of the imagination that are running wild while your body's asleep. They could be emotionally triggered, or memories, etc. Not all dreams really have a meaning.

When I have a dream, I try to figure out the type of dream and then go from there. As for the dream you had about your cat, I can relate to that, I lost my cat I had for sixteen years, I still dream about her and I miss her very much. Personally, I believe the dream is probably a message type, ether a message from your cat - just telling you that they're there for you in spirit, or its a emotional trigger, you miss your cat and its being expressed through your dreams.

Aww, I know this. In my culture if a cat returns to you means that cat missed you and wants to protect you. Bless your cat and the cat will do more in its power to help you.

Dreams can be real if they leave u with a strong feeling when u wake up. Other dreams that u often forget because they are from the subconscious mind and hardly matter as they dont leave memory or feeling.

Cat generally symbolizes a thief or a mischievous character that is around you and is backstabbing you or being disloyal or stealing from you. This is from the islamic tradition. Think of it, theres no real reason for ure cat to come back to u in ure dream, shes probably living fine n is happy in whatever state she is in n has no need to come to you via dream. Your pet cat would never be disloyal to u or make u feel sad or hurt u. Therefore the cat u are seeing in the dream is not ure cat, its a demon coming in the form/shape of ure cat, if shes entering ure house that usually means someones stealing from ure home, n since ure feeling emotionally distressed after waking up it could mean someone is being disloyal to you or backstabbing u. Just look around surrounding n tell me if any of this relates.
