Gods?
By:
Hi,I would like to know more about some of the gods(the gods I pray).Such as,what to do to please them, how to pray them, why do they get angry on you,how to calm them and,the three most imptortants:
How to make them grant you powers/blessings
How to make them appear to you(dreams or not)
What personality do they have(do they get angry fast,do they like to play with you(in an innocent way),do they like to harm you and so on).
I search for them but mostly I can find their myths and some prayers/rites I'm not sure about.
So,I would like to know more about:
Odin
Thor
Loki
Freyja
Skadi
Bragi
Tyr
Kali
Hecate
Please, give me info from your personal experience like prayers you said to make the gods pleased,or appear to you or grant you powers(I'm trying to make my way into magic with the blessings of the gods rather than hard work&practice, mostly beacaus I have few free time but also beacause I have too few patience.)

I know quite a bit when it comes to Norse deities, and could send you a mail if you wish to give you this info: it's a bit too lengthy to post here.

first of all,y ou can check in the articles and/or in google.

i know of a lot of those Gods/Goddesses however, i only know about Hecate. Hecate can be used to protect frogs and dogs. she is seen as three woman [maiden mother and crone] each representing a different aspect [example crone for wisdom] in Greek mythos she was seen at crossroads with her hound lighting the way at night. she is the minister and close companion of the underworld, so you can also invoke her in cemeteries. Hecate was the only Titan who fought with Zeus in the battle so although she's not an Olympian, and was never officially named a Goddess, she is considered a deity.

She enjoys offerings of red wine and honey, she should be evoked on the full moon either in a cemetery or a crossroads. normally a stuffed animal dog or three touches represent her, and you should have an offering of some kind with you. a warning mind, once evoked she will follow you and if you do anything to upset her [like speak ill of her or bring harm to an animal under her care] she will turn on you.

http://zer0dmx.tripod.com/gods/index.html is a good site to check out, she's got a long write up about Hecate and has a long one on Kali also. unfortunately she didn't write on the links who's who but it is shown not only above, but if you pass your mouse over each the link will come up. http://zer0dmx.tripod.com/gods/hecate.html is Hecate
http://zer0dmx.tripod.com/gods/kali.html for Kali

I don't work with any of those Gods but I can tell you right now the Gods shouldn't be taken lightly or for granted. It's like the saying goes "Don't mess with fire if you're going to get burn." Now to answer your question:
How to make them grant you powers/blessings
That's not possible if you don't have any connection with them and it also seems you want to take the easy way out instead of going through hard work
How to make them appear to you(dreams or not)
To be honest not all Gods will appear in your dreams. I reccommend you to meditate but why don't you start with the one you feel you have a connection with instead of going through all of them you have now
What personality do they have(do they get angry fast,do they like to play with you(in an innocent way),do they like to harm you and so on).
You have to find that your own self cause that's the mystery with working with any god

Again through hard work cause no God will glance your way if you take the easy way out. While everyone studies for years or whatnot you should take their example to do so to. Now as for the prayers what I do is I just talk normally instead of summarizing a prayer the someone written if it works for them then that's fine but I prefer talking and thanking them as long as your heart is in it and it makes you comfortable.

There's a fairly decent amount of material about Hekate and Her worship available. You could get copies of;

Bearing Torches: A Devotional Anthology for Hekate by Bibliotheca Alexandrina
Hekate Liminal Rites: A Study of the rituals, magic and symbols of the torch-bearing Triple Goddess of the Crossroads by Sorita d'Este
Hekate Her Sacred Fires by Sorita d'Este
Hekate Soteira: A Study of Hekate's Roles in the Chaldean Oracles and Related Literature by Sarah Iles Johnston

There's also The Covenant of Hekate, a group dedicated to Hekate research, you can find them here http://hekatecovenant.com/

While there has already been a lot suggested, I thought I'd throw in my two cents.

http://heathengods.com/temple/modules/library/

That is one of the best free libraries on asatru I have ever seen. It's very true to the original language, has multiple translations of the eddas, and references galore.

Hail and good studies!
