Starting out newbie

Hey every one, another new guy here. I've kinda been into magic for a Lon time now but there's this predicament I have..... You see I live in a household where my family is strong believers of Christ, heaven, and hell. Don't get me wrong though, I also believe in him(or at least something) and I love my family very much. So I guess is what I'm trying to ask is if there people could give me a idea of what might be good to practice but doesn't require a big rituals(simple are good I guess) but something small to start of with. So I guess something that is good practice for newbies and isn't flashy or in your face.

P.S.
I also love reading and learning new things so if anyone has any suggestions for good and interesting reads please give me a heads up!

From your profile I see that you're aware of energywork, which indeed has much more to do with your mind than the material components of a spell. Energywork and meditation go hand-in-hand.

Here's the course I recommend everyone: http://thebookoft.wordpress.com/knowledge/witchcraft-from-the-ground-up/preface/

I hope this helps!

Aeons, thanks again. I'd probably would have spent a long time looking at smaller stuff(what would have probably be scam sites), and the Book of T is the best long term solution I'd probably be able o find so thank you for directing me to them!

Well you had the same situation as I did, simply if your kinda worried, maybe don't tell them.

I am not one to believe myths that say if you tell someone about magick that it will not work, however there is no need to tell people. It can be a secret, and actually have benifits.

I too am also a newbie, however on this site only. Anyways you could always state the fact that you are pagan. Say that it's am earth worshipped religion that believe's in two gods.

Make it sugar coated, I'm sorry for sounding fluffy. But many people will not care, or they will not understand.

Is it important to choose at the start, I always thought that once you became dedicated in one thing it would make things a bit slow when you tried to start something new? And today I was messing around with my energy/aura today and I found that my hands were had begone to feel really hot, is this a sign that my Elena is fire and I tried to look it up but some sites say that it happens to most people and others say it's a sign of what your element is.
