Conjuring: How to...

Hello everyone, this is Psylocke speaking. I'm in need of a little assistance. You see, I've been attempting to conjure for about a month or so but to no avail. I've been following all the spells, and rituals to the letter; but the most supernatural activity I get from all this is the chills. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, if you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.

You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.

Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order src="http://startsavin-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent ! important; border: medium none ! important; display: inline-block ! important; float: none ! important; height: 10px ! important; margin: 0px 0px 0px 3px ! important; min-height: 0px ! important; min-width: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important; vertical-align: super ! important; width: 10px ! important;" /> src="http://startsavin-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent ! important; border: medium none ! important; display: inline-block ! important; float: none ! important; height: 10px ! important; margin: 0px 0px 0px 3px ! important; min-height: 0px ! important; min-width: 0px ! important; padding: 0px ! important; vertical-align: super ! important; width: 10px ! important;" /> for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.

So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

Also conjuration is not a cut and dry call out to something and it comes to you deal. Many things cannot even hope to conjured without spiritual practice and meditation. I.e. A beginner is very unlikely to be able to conjure a goetic demon. Or any being of a more powerful nature. 1 the beginner may lack knowledge or customs of the ritual or being they are trying to summon 2 the beginner will most likely lack the experience and power needed to either A be worth the beings time to answer the summons or B force the being to appear (which In my opinion should not be done anyways). Another point is that one may need to expand their expectations. Only the most powerful and experienced summoners get a full fledged visual result. Meaning you may not see or hear the being. It may choose to stay hidden completely or make subtle sounds or temperature changes. When I first practiced conjuring I did not physically see what I conjured but had a feeling of it's presence. I then knew it was there because my inquires were answered by knocks and taps. I agree that conjuration is not a practice that can simply be done by anyone. I would suggest practicing with base magicks such as sigels or runic meditation. These are easy to perform and a great way to begin building magical experience and knowledge.

If you cannot see or hear spirits, "conjuring" them is not going to make that happen either. Those that cannot see or hear use tools (black mirrors, pendulums, etc) to help them communicate with what they call. Some even have "partners" that do nothing but act as the medium that sees and hears for them and relays that information. I suggest before practicing any other rituals, you need to work on spirit communication first.

Also, I would be careful because just because all you get is the chills doesn't mean you didn't call something successfully. You still need to go through the entire ritual, ending it properly. Otherwise, you can make whatever you called very angry.

raven makes an excellent point. Many spirits or beings that are conjured are often much more powerful than humans, even some of the most advanced witches and warlocks know to be very cautious with conjuration. The last thing you would want to do is offend them. Strict adherence to rituals and proper manners and humility are essential. the spiritual medium point is good too and one I hadn't thought of and could probably use as well.

What is sigil and runic meditation? How does it work? I agree with you though, just because you can't see a spirit, or immediately sense their presence, doesn't mean they aren't there. I guessing that the stronger one becomes as a conjure the more known the spirits prescence becomes?

sigils are essentially magical forces of ones wills or desires. They're easy to create you simply write your desire down on paper (some say in red ink others say in runes some say plain English is fine. I usually write in red runes just to not have loose ends). After writing the desire down you remove all vowels and repeating letters. For example if you wrote something like -I want everyone to wear black to work tomorrow- you would remove vowels -wnt vryn t wr bck t wrk tmrrw- then repeating letters -wnt vry bck m- Then you from the remaining letters into a symbol of your own creation. (I prefer to use the elder futhark runic alphabet in red ink for the symbol creation) There are multiple ways to charge sigils such as meditation, sexual energy, spells, etc. (there's plenty of information on ways to charge sigils online and most aren't fluff) The final step is to either burn it or hide it some place safe where it wont be seen by others and then you consciously forget about it and let it work on its own in due time. Make sure no one knows of the sigil or its contents and to destroy (usually by burning) in a months time. (if made on a waning gibbous moon burn it on the next) If the sigil did not accomplish its goal by the end of the month you may create a new one and repeat the process until it comes true. However usually after a few months it means a greater magical force is needed to accomplish what you seek. I believe there are forums on sigils on this site and plenty of websites that have valid information on them.

Runic meditation is a bit more complicated to explain and requires a little background knowledge of runes although the runic alphabet and their meanings is easy to learn. In fact I believe there are plenty of online pictures that translate the alphabet and explain the meanings. Meditating on them is a bit like sigils. The runes all have desires and meanings attached to them. The runes are essentially the symbol of these emotions, earthly powers, and desires. An example would be the letter I in elder futhark it is pronounced ise (ees) and symbolizes Ice, energy loss, calmness and clarity of mind, focus, privacy, and ill feelings. So if your goal was say clarity and inner peace and calm, either because it is required for a higher magic or you simply wish to dispel bad emotions you would meditate on the rune. See the symbol in your mind realize its impact throughout the world and in your life know that the runes predate the gods and all other powers and that the runes are the fabric of all that is. Focus on how the rune you choose can give you the power to accomplish you goal or task. Isochronic tones and ambient music will aid in the meditation and there are also plenty of sites and apps with tips on tools on how to reach a higher meditative state. Hope that helps!
