What's up with this?

Why does it seem like most of the people on this site have a problem with Satanists, Theistic Satanists, and Luciferians? I thought it was somewhat of a rule around here not to tell someone their belief is wrong as long as their belief isn't "fluffy". When it comes to Satanists who work primarily with the demonic (Daemons) they are told even by some mods that their belief is wrong and it's only going to cause them harm in the end. This isn't right on many levels whether their agreeing with the individuals in the chatter or not. If your going to run a site that advertises and I quote "Where the world learns black magic, white magic, pagan, wiccan and occult arts" wouldn't it be necessary to run the site without bias behavior? We all come from different backgrounds and believe it or not there are people out there like myself who do delve into the forbidden aspects of the occult. These aspect are only forbidden because the Wiccan/Pagan community don't seem to care or respect people who practice forms of demonolatry and this lack of understanding causes disputes and fights on this site.

I feel people need to quit with the judgmental behavior and open their minds to things they've never experienced or tried. If your going to progress as a magician wouldn't this be essential?

Sadly there are a lot of people who equate Satanism with the sorts of behaviors that consist of dressing in black, biting the heads off of bats, and saying the Lord's prayer backwards. They make a judgement call based on misinformation instead of trying to find out the facts. In this way they are as wrong as those they decry who automatically label anything Pagan as being Satanic.

Pagans, Wiccans, Satanists, Witch's, Heathens, Occult practitioners in general are all capable of not only bias, but the broad spectrum of human emotion and quirks.

This includes preconceived ideas, dislike of beliefs (justified or not), being judgmental (which is natural and something we all do all the time), argumentative behavior, etc.

No one in the occult community is immune to it just because they are part of the community.

I have seen perfectly good topics get squashed over personal opinion. It happens. Such is life. When it comes to Mods doing it, you quickly learn which Mods allow what topics and work within that frame for however long they are on.

It's no different than participating in any other social or professional situation.

To be honest, we get a lot of members in chat that come in asking how to summon different things. I usually tell them if they do not know how, they should not do so. Only because if they do not know how to summon it, chances are they do not know how to get rid of it as well. It is not my decision what any certain group does, and honestly could care less, I do believe they should be educated about any issues before doing anything.

I agree and I do see where your coming from on this topic. Thanks for clearing it up everyone. I didn't take in account the many ridicules questions you get asked in a day and I can understand with that being said why some topics are not worth touching in the chatter. Sorry for the confusion.

Also in light of what Lark posted I'm going to shed some life on Theistic Satanism in the forum, maybe it will help some people out there.

I completely agree. As a satanist I find it very irritating when I read someone's post that says about hell being an evil place, in retaliation to a post asking about satanism beliefs.

i have a few friends who are Satanists, plus i studied world religions not only in school but as a hobby so i understand the faith, but i also see the bias people have towards it. it's half a misconception, like they hear 'Satanist' and instantly think horrible cult like thoughts. or they heard some creepy goth kid was a Satanist and therefore think all Satanists are like that. upsetting, but i think thats what the problem is.

personally, i don't care, as long as you don't push your belief onto me, whatever completes you and brings you inner peace is fine in my book. i have seen people seem to hate or shy away from Satanists, but i think it's a result of stigma. i agree that this site especially would be more accepting, hypocritical when you think about it.
