Help the newbie.
By:

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your replies. My name is Phil and I have been reading about magic and spellcrafting for a few years. I have spoken with a few people but I've never really found the kind of advice or leadership that really helps me personally. I have decided recently that I would like to start practicing but again, I haven't found a good place to start. I would appreciate any suggested reading and peraonal advice anyone would be willing to share. I don't have any particular area of focus in mind. I consider myself a Jack-of-all-Trades and a master of none. Perhaps that will change as I learn more.

Thanks again for any help,

Phil

Well first, off what are hoping to accomplish with magick? How do you want it to effect your life? Why do you want it to effect your life? This is some of the things you have to think about, but never doubt yourself.

If it's magic in particular that you are interested in learning more about then here's some books I'd recommend:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar
"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson
"Modern Magick" by Donald Craig

And a website with a tremendous amount of information (just scroll down the page) can be found at http://www.meta-religion.com/Esoterism/esoterism.htm

I'm looking for a way to understand existence and to use my knowledge to make my life and the lives of those around me better. I've already read "Advanced Magic for Beginners" by Alan Chapman and found it very informative. I'll look up your seggested books. Thanks for your advice.

Phil.
