Hello, want to make a scrying bowl,i have a bowl that i painted black and i've heard that you should use stream water in the bowl, but every time i have gone to get stream water the stream have been dryed up,my bedroom has a storm window and i thought i would just leave an open jar in the windowsill with the outer window open the next time it rains hard,i was wondering if anyone else has used rain water in a scrying bowl and has gotten it to work.

Ive used rain water, but not specifically for that purpose.
if you want to use the rain water for scrying purposes i would first cleanse the water in the light of the full moon and then putting it in your scry bowl.

I use coffee not water. The surface is a lot like black ink without the inky mess. It also negates the need for a black bowl. If you do use water, I suggest placing a tumbled quartz crystal in the bottom (the round ones) and use that as a focal point. The quartz energy also aids in the scrying.

Seeing that I live in a city, I use natural spring water out of a bottle. I have collected rain water in the past but unfortunately due to the pollution in the air, it tends to look very dirty and smell. I know, it's sad, but it's the way it is. People are destroying the beauty of this world.
