Sun Will Swallow Us All??

I was doing research and I came across the sun. Apparently, the sun is supposed to get larger and larger because the gases inside the sun will swell and the outside layers of the sun will puff out. Then, the sun will swell and basically consume mars, earth, Venus. The sun will become something called a red giant because it's swells like a giant! Everything will get vaporized by the heat and the earth will become a piece of rock again. Magically speaking, the God (sun) will destroy us all?? The god will vaporize mother earth??? Please give me your opinion on this subject!!!!
*I know this won't happen for the next billion years but still!!

Research shows that the sun will become 256 times bigger than it's original size!! So magically speaking, wouldn't the god (sun) destroy the goddeses (moon)???

Magickally speaking, I don't think the sun is a god, or can be considered a god as it doesn't have any form of consciousness that I'm aware of.

Opinions on the matter....It will happen billions of years from now. Most of us can't even count how many greats that will be with the grandkids so really I don't think it's worth a thought.

The sun and moon arent gods and goddesses they just represent them.

Some people worship them as deities. It's all open to interpretation.

Gods and goddesses... Well, commune with them if you feel the need. Suns are born in fire and in fire they die... Only to be reborn as something else. They're the original phoenix.

I don't worship them, but as I see it the Sun god and Moon goddes aren't the actual entities themselves, there simply the physical things we associate them with.

And what will happen is that the sun will run out of Hydrogen to "burn" and will begin "burning" oxygen, which then causes the change in color, swelling, etc. So yeah, that will be the end of our world as we know it, as well as Mercury, Venus, Mars and the Moon. Of course, seeing as this won't be happening for another couple billion years, we could all be dead by then anyway

There are many theories on what the sun may do. The sun is a giant star. Suns either explode or implode. Exploding would emit so much heat that it would annihilate the earth before it even touched it. The fact that the sun is growing is causing scientists to believe it will explode. Imploding would be caused by the sun cooling down which would create a black hole. Neither option is a good one. But these things won't happen for a very long time.

The universe is ever expanding. This is just one of many many galaxies. Many of them look just like this one. So there is the possibility that many scientists ponder, that there are many earths.

Most human beings see the world as revolving around them, but truly, the world is far more vast and the universe proves it.

For all you know there are many earths with living creatures that have just as little knowledge of the immense existence around them. No I'm not talking about "aliens" I'm just talking about "life" in general.

Ancient pagans worshipped the sun because they saw the life giving power it gave the earth (heat, light, nourishment). If you look into many cultures that worshipped the sun, they did not see the dieties as the sun but that the deities were the power behind it. In Egypt and Greece, deities carried the sun across the sky. Why would another deity need to carry a deity across the sky? It wasn't that they were the aspect of nature, but that they controlled the aspect of nature. In translation I believe that gets conflicted. The deities created the element and then governed over it. Or they were of the same energy, therefore having power over that energy. Since people did/do not know what these deities really look like, they could only imagine based off of what the deity corresponded to.

When Christianity came in, they attempted to ridicule the pagan beliefs by twisting the perspective into something laughable. "Look they worship the sun, but we worship a god that created the sun and everything else"

Fascinating to read all these theories. The humans are a species of animal; and like all the animals, will eventually become extinct. Or the species may exist until the Earth is destroyed, as it will be, one day. Unless we silly people destroy it first!
The moon may slow down, and then be pulled into a collision with the Earth. The Earth may slow down and be pulled into the sun.
The sun may explode, or implode. But it will not happen for many,many generations to come!
It certainly will not happen as foretold by that raving lunatic who gives the date as 31 October. That date will come and go like all his other predictions.
One day the world will end. It will not be tomorrow; so don't worry about it!

Well, /if/ humans are still around in a billion or so years, humanity will either have colonies elsewhere, or maybe even some solution to our aging sun, like starting artificial fission reactions in the sun to reverse the fusion of hydrogen into helium or something.

But, like Brysing said, we're not gonna be around to see it anyway.
