LSV's comments on Wicca

I didn't know what to title this because this is just something that I've observed and know as true fact. Wicca is a rather new religion, brought to light around the 1950's, and became a real religion around the 1960's. I do not in any way, believe that Wicca has been around for some ungodly amount of years, however, Goddess and God worshiping religions have been found to predate christianity time and time again. It's these drawings, and the handed down lore and practices that have shaped and modeled what wicca is today. The fact remains, no matter how many people wish to dispute this, that Wicca IS a religion, and should be shown the same amount of respect as any other. Pointing out flaws in the history, or saying it was created by a mad man, is just rediculous. You don't see me on here typing up long articles pointing out 101 different contridictions in the bible, the koran, or the torah because I don't follow the 3 book religions of the world. I don't pick at hindu's because they have over 20,000 different gods and goddesses, I am who I am. I am here to teach what I have been taught, and what I have learned through my own personal experiences, and allow others to do the same without them having to worry that I'm going to interfere. We are all brothers and sisters under the divine, whatever that divine presence may be called. We are all unique and find out own paths in time. This is just one of many ways to find our way to enlightenment, bliss, and true happiness with ourselves, those around us, and to help us feel closer and more personal to the natural order and chaos that revolves around us.

Exactly.
Religion is just one part of a person.
People are people regardless of race, nationality, religion, gender and other things that make us different.

Thank you for saying this.

It's true that Wicca as we know it is a modern religion and that some of the early history claimed for Wicca was inaccurate. But that does not mean that Wicca has not been of tremendous spiritual value to a large number of people. If it were not it would not be one of the fastest growing religions in the world. All religions, even the most ancient ones, were new once upon a time. The age of the religion is not what is important. What is important is how well that set of beliefs and practices links us to the Divine. And on this latter Wicca has done very well indeed.
