Witchcraft

Some people say it is a hobby. I think it's a religion. I consider myself a Electant Witch but I think of witchcraft as a religion. Wiccan I am not. But why isn't it considered a religion? Why do people think it's a hobby? It is an old religion! There are Gods and Goddesses involved! Will any one please concur?

Some people say Wicca is the religion mainly dealing with celebrating the sabbats and honoring the Goddess and God. Where as Witchcraft is a practice dealing with spellwork and what not.. I personally view witchcraft as a religion.

Witchcraft = a *craft*, a set of skills relating to spellcasting, not dependant on any religion.

There can be Christians who practice witchcraft, Pagans who practice witchcraft, Jews who practice witchcraft, Catholics who practice witchcraft, Santeros who practice witchcraft, Wiccans who practice witchcraft, Bhuddists who practice witchcraft, etc. People from all ethnicities, all religious persuasions, and all parts of the world practice witchcraft - not just Neo-Pagan/Wiccan types.

At least this is my definition. Your mileage may vary.

I would say that Wicca is a religion and witchcraft is something you do, like gardening.

"Like gardening" lol, nicely put :)

Or the question holds, is it a lifestyle, like that of wizardry(or at least thats how I see wizardry).

In my views, its not a religion.
Not all use gods and goddesses in their craft.
I see it as a craft, lifestyle, and that such.
A religion is a belief system. Considering each practitioner has different views on the craft, I wouldn't consider it a religion either way.
