Meditation Position

I know there's different ways to meditate, but is there any difference in affects of meditation according to the position you choose to meditate in? I know some people choose to meditate with their legs crossed (some people call this 'indian style'), some people choose to sit in a normal sitting position that you'd be in while properly sitting in a chair, and others choose to meditate while laying down, but other then the physical position you are in does this make a difference with your meditation?

Personally, I prefer to meditate with my legs crossed (indian style), and I haven't noticed to much of a difference when I meditate in any other position except that if I meditate while laying down I usually fall asleep. I'm mostly just wondering how these positions may affect you and/or your meditation as well as whether or not their is some affect I may not have noticed when I tried these positions.

Well, position do count in meditating. It may constraint your body if you are not comfortable enough and feel unease, thus affecting your mind and may affect your concentration.

Meditation emphasizes much on mental activity. So i personaly believe that whatever positions you do while meditating, pick a position that is comfortable to your body so as to avoid distractions.
