evocation and invocation

I am confused in the different between evocation and invocation can anyone explain me thank u

I found really good definitIon for your question from the pdfs i am reading recently.

" Evocation can be defined as the calling forth of an entity from another
plane of existence to an external manifestation in either the astral or physical

plane. Evoked beings are brought closer to the magician, but never within

himself or herself. This is what separates evocations from invocations. In an
invocation, the magician brings some foreign intelligence within himself or

herself, and allows the entity to speak through his or her body. Channeling is

a well-known form of invocation.
In an evocation, however, the magician brings the entity to a plane where

the magician can view it and communicate with it. Evocation is therefore an

external manifestation of an entity, as it occurs outside of the magician's body"

The above is a good definition, however, one key element I feel is missing is that most magicians will attune their temple/practice space to the nature of the spirit being called upon. It is not just a matter of bringing the spirit to the magician, but the magician tuning the environment in a sense so that the atmosphere of the room is resonant with the nature of the spirit.

I would also argue evocation proper takes place etherically, there is usually a physical medium for scrying.

Invocation whilst often assumed to be with a specific deity can also just be energy, there are varying degrees of invocation, with full blown channelling/horsing being one of the more extreme forms.
