Completely New!

Hey everyone. I'm Julia. I'm completely new to magic and its world. I've always been interested, but growing up in a strict Christian household deterred me from ever studying it. So I'm starting as a complete newbie. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take me under their wing to teach me just the basics. I know there are different "categories" of magic, as in black, white, wiccan, etc. So I'm not really sure where I fit in or where to start.

I'm 28. I've always had a great appreciation for nature. I find storms to be invigorating, and rain is one of the most calming things in the world to me. I have found that I'm very empathetic to others. Other than that, I'm not sure what my gifts are, or if I even have any.

Thanks for reading! Hopefully someone is willing to help me figure out where I belong.

Hi Julie, it's so nice to have you. c: I recommend starting here:

http://www.spellsofmagic.com/newbie_central.html
http://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven_ritual.html?ritual=143&coven=108
http://www.spellsofmagic.com/coven_ritual.html?ritual=1836&coven=246

Meditate a lot and study the Craft itself, so you know about different paths.

These books are pretty helpful:

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig
"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

Most people aren't willing to teach online but if you have questions, they'll help you to the best of their ability.

Everyone has abilities; meditate is great at unlocking them.

Unfortunately, it is really your decision where you go. Only you can pick your path - but, I believe in ya! ^__^

Blessed Be.

Louise, Isumi - Nice to meet you both, as well. I'd give you the exact same advice I gave Julia. ^_^ I posted helpful links above.

Welcome Julia! When I got started in magic, I found the book Advanced Magick for Beginners by Alan Chapman helpful. If you are looking to exercise your empathy, W.E. Butler wrote a couple books on Psychometry and Clairvoyance. Scott cunningham wrote a book on natural and elemental magic called "Earth Air, Fire, and Water."
