Faerie Wicca?
By:
Merry Meet,

I have been studying Wicca for a while now and have just come across the fact the Faerie Wicca is a actual type of Wicca practice. A few people have told me I had to be pagan in order to practice with Fae magick or Faeries in general. Now that I know this isn't true, I was wondering what, if any, good books I could read or useful and accurate websites that I could study on. A lot of websites I have visited involve "children" folklore and such that isn't what I am looking for. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Merry Part, and Blessed Be.

Um, you do know that Wiccans are Pagans do you not? While you don't have to be Pagan or even Wiccan to work with Faerie you do have to be Pagan to be a Wiccan.

One author on the subject to avoid is Kisma Stepanich who is not only unreliable but who was found guilty of plagiarizing the material in her books.

A book that you might be interested in is "The Faerie Queens - A Collection of Essays Exploring the Myths, Magic and Mythology of the Faerie Queens" by Sorita D'Este and David Rankine

Yes I did know that, what I mean is, is that I was told I couldn't be Wiccan and study Faerie magick. That I had to be just a pagan, and could be apart of a different religion, and study it. Sorry that I didn't say that.

And thank you for your recommendations I shall look into the book. :)

Edian McCoy is a good author, on the subject. I just got her book on Healing with the Fairies for $2.40 off amazon.do a search for fairies on amazon in the book section. Lots of selections. Orion Foxwood is also good.

Edain McCoy is a very unreliable author and I wouldn't trust in any information she puts in her books. She's the one who came up with the idea that the ancient Irish worshipped the great "Potato Goddess" even though the potato wasn't even known in Ireland until the 1600's, Over a thousand years after the people she claimed worshipped it.

Lol potato goddess what was her name?

I don't know of any reliable books but I have seen a few. Study the mythology, in my opionion it will help you understand faeries/fae better. I do know a bit of stuff, but not how to work with/practice fae Wicca. I know they enjoy sweets and saffron. They also hate greed, so if you have a garden or eat outside, put some food asside. Faeries also aren't happy sweet creatures, they can be vengeful. Plant a garden for them, sweet smelling flowers that attract butterlfies and hummingbirds are best. I do know of people who leave the area alone and never enter it since it doesn't belong to them once it's been given to the fae [or other spiritual being.] Also read once faerie cakes [or whatever offering] shouldn't have any toothpick holes [when you check a cake most stick a toothpick in it] apparently certain faeries get highly insulted [which I can't remember, I read it years ago and it was about world mythology]

Just a few ideas, good luck to you.
