astral projection

Correct me if I'm wrong, astral traveling is the same as lucid dreaming, right?
Well, I astral projected in my sleep last night, or perhaps it was a lucid dream, but in it I was in a moor with softly glowing cats. On the other side of the moor, cats with dark auras, with blood sort of dripping down their fur, and onto the ground. It was a lucid dream in the sense that I could control what I was doing, but the cats there told me what to do, and I willingly did it. Then a cat well known in the 'Warrior Cats' series (Spottedleaf) appeared and started walking alongside me. I know that she was telling me things about a great darkness, or perhaps just pointing out herbs, then, when we were on the edge of where the dark cats stood, we saw a small kitten trapped just behind the border of the dark cats. Spottedleaf dropped the herbs she was carrying, and asked the kitten if it wanted to leave. The kitten mewed yes, and somehow I could understand it.
So, what I'm really wondering is, when you're astral projecting, could you conjure up anything? And would it still be there? I want to go back to that place, and talk more. If this is so, I think Spottedleaf might have given me a warning. I worship Bast, the goddess of cats, and I'm more comfortable as a cat than human. Perhaps she was telling me something. Have you noticed any disturbances in the astral realm?

Sorry for my lengthy post.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, astral traveling is the same as lucid dreaming, right?"

Well then, allow me to correct you. ;-)

Lucid Dreaming is the state in which you are dreaming, while asleep, and you become aware that you're dreaming, leading you to use that mental awareness to say what you want (in the dream, as your dream self), do your own actions, your own interactions with your dream space, and, in some people who have enough experience with lucidity, create your own dream worlds.

Astral Projection is the supposed projection of your astral body (basically, a spiritual body double if you will) into the world around you; that is, that you can go where you want, how you want, without physical limitations. Some people also bring in the idea of there being different "astral realms", "astral planes" or "astral scenery". The two are in no way connected really, though you can certainly attempt astral projection techniques from within a lucid dream.

"So, what I'm really wondering is, when you're astral projecting, could you conjure up anything?"

I suppose what you're really asking is, if you're lucid dreaming, could you conjure up anything? The answer to that is, well, yes, theoretically. The practical application of such a practice will take rather a lot of time to master. If you *did* mean Astral Projection, then, personally, I'd say no. Others would say yes. There really isn't anything concrete in Astral Projection, so it's all about subjective speculation. I take the view that we are simple observers in the astral, rather than the creators of the astral, so I don't think we can change the entire environment around us by simply thinking about it.

To me, by the way, it honestly just sounds like you were having a vivid dream; nothing more, nothing left. You seem to be fairly obsessed with cats, so it's not strange that you would have dreams about cats, especially those from certain "Warrior Cats" series. ;-)

Thanks, but however I did feel like I was astral projecting, in the sense that I was floating off the ground. Somehow I do think that Bast was trying to tell me something. She did say something like she needed broccoli. I just looked up something online, and it said this: broccoli is used for protection. I have a feeling this was more than a vivid dream. But thanks for helping~

I guess 'Bast' wants to turn you into a warrior cat.
