Wiccan Pentagram

If you are wearing a pentagram with the elements and the words "Blessed be" on top in purple lettering on a sweatshirt, can you be identified as a wiccan? I saw this woman who was at least 45 years old in a store wearing one.

I think I messed up the terms. The woman was wearing a pentacle because the star was ringed with on circle.

I don't know maybe.Its hard to tell the only way to know for sure is just to ask her.Try complimenting the sweatshirt,tell her you like it and its interesting and work your way from there.
Its really difficult to know who is who since most people where all sorts of symbols and have no clue on them what so ever.The only reason they wear it is because its cute,or looks really good or edgy or something like that.However I doubt thats the case with the lady you saw.After all if she is as old as you say she is I doubt she would wear something like that for the heck of it.Mostly teens and kids do that.

Sounds Wiccan to me! Just ask, I don't think anyone wearing a symbol would mind. Being an older woman, she might have wearing it as an invitation to other Wiccans to talk to her. Good for you to notice. Blessed Be...

It's entirely possible; however, Wiccans don't have exclusive use of the pentagram or the words "Blessed Be!". There are other Pagans who sometimes use the same symbols. As has been suggested, the only way to be certain would be to ask her.

It would be okay to politly ask about the shirt.

Pentagrams are commonly worn to show other wiccans that you are one too. I wear one for that reason, but also for protection. if she was older it was probably that she was a wiccan, pagan or magic worker. But in younger people it is classed as "fashion". So it is very difficult to distinguish between the two.
