How to use a cauldron?

Hi there I'm Lelli and I'm new to the forums.
I've been playing around my magic and witchcraft for years now but I still consider myself as a beginner. I love my cauldron but I'm ashamed to say that I don't really know how to use it.
I mostly just use it for mixing herbs and burning candles and incense in but I would really like to know how to heat it for spells.
Do you just put it on the stove or do I need some sort of frame to stand it on over a fire?
It is a small cast iron cauldron with a lid and metal handle so it is safe to be heated.
Any advise would be wonderful. Thanks.

With most small altar cauldrons, you can find a hanging stand for them, which you put a candle underneath to heat it up. You can find them on Etsy.

Don't ever put a cauldron on the stove!!!!!

i don't know how big is it , but if is big it should be outside, if is small you can use it for difrent spells .
I have two. I use mine for spells ,brews,
