vampires that sparkle

Does that make anyone else mad? Stephanie meyers (sp?) is a murderer in my eyes. she killed the classic vampire, all these little teenage girls want now is a romantic vegan vampire who sparkles in the light. this is not right. Vampires are supposed to burst into flames and die a really cool death when they go into the sunlight.

also,
I don't suppose this would be a good spot to tell me you really do glow when you go out into the sunlight, or even that you burst into flames when you go out into sunlight, i'm just warning you. I will make fun of you on sight. =)

Even though I enjoyed the Twilight novels I do agree they are the death of vampire legends and goth nerds lol. I dont mean to title anyone but it used to be the 'goths, freaks, witches and weirdos' that where into all the vampire and werewolf stuff but know its entered the mainstream of pop culture, what else is left to make us look unique lol.

I must it is disgraceful; I don't usually like being so opinionated but yeah, it's too... what's the word?
Girly!

In my opinion about the general movie, vampires have to be at least slightly scary, or at least the males. Geez *rolls eyes*

Sadly I read the first two books... Even tho am a boy I got hooked with my friends.

The story she made wasn't a attack on the myth Vampire. She wanted to turn the myth into something new. All writers want to create their own master piece. That I can understand. But even tho her version of the vampire is false doesn't mean those teen girls will believe that is what a vampire is.

Other then the false stuff, she did added some of the real myth. Like sucking blood and needed it. Don't eat food. Life forever and don't age. Cold pale skin. Having their own little power/secret (Some myth have this and others don't). And a bit more. Like I said I only read the first two books and if anything popped out in the other 2 that I miss don't chew off my head.

Anyways, she made that book and after a few years people started to like it and read it. It isn't like she the writer wanted to hurt the myth, but to entertain the readers, mainly girls.

I for one, do understand and agree with that much, 4321.

Just the sparkling... she could have done without.

Oh, and where's the fun without any fangs? ;D

They were actually a combination of different myths from different places and time periods, she selectively picked the aspects of each myth that she wanted in her vampires, like how people selectively breed livestock to get the best qualities.
The reason they are girly is because it was written for teenage girls.
And as for 'at least the males', why should the males be any scarier than the females? At the risk of sounding like a feminist twat, I actually find that quite insulting. I would probably find the females a lot scarier than the males, vamps with pms is not something I ever want to see.
